to find the perfect Oahu vacation.
Underneath the Mango Tree - Loved the proximity to the beach and the town, very convenient. A very nice place to have a beach vacation. The place is nice and clean and well kept. The yard is very private and quiet at night. I would recommend the place.
Kuilima Estates 111W - Unit 111W at Kuiilima was beautiful. Accomodated our family very well with an easy 7 minute walk to the beach. Our 4 kids ages 16 thru 21 enjoyed the surf lessons arranged through the Turtle Bay Resort (instructor Bobby was great!) LeiLeis restaurant at the Golf Club House was fantastic. Busy as a result so get there early. The shrimp scampi pasta dish fabulous. Also recommend Jamiesons Sea Food Restaraunt in nearby Hali'ewa. Best meal we experienced as a family, Take time to explore the quaint beaches and surf towns of the North Shore. The surfing is well worth watching at Sunset and Pipeline. The renos in 111 are outstanding and we felt very indulged. Kudos to the owners!!!! Insider tip- Costco worth a quick run and easy to find. Also enjoyed the swap meet at Aloha Stadium( Wed. Sat. Sun) Great for souvenirs and quaint buys. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the lack of sun. Gives us a reason to return as sun or not the weather was warm and you don't need to shovel rain! We ran out of time but would have loved a day at Waimea Beach with a walk to see the falls!! Next time! When staying at the Turtle Bay condos please allot time to return keys and parking passes to the Sugar Mill up island upon check out. It's a bit of a nuisance when having to double back to get to Honolulu for the airport. My only recommendation would be to have a kiosk a little more comvenient for check out purposes but that's minor. Again, we enjoyed a wonderful family holiday and look forward to visiting again. Mahalo and Aloha
By The Sea Home - House had ample room for our family which was great and the location was a short block from the beach. The property manager and owner were great about quickly resolving concerns. My family had a wonderful time and that is what mattered most. The best part of the trip was swimming with the dolphins at Sea Life Park, definitely worth the money. Best new spot we learned about is Chip and Cookie in Kailua.
Makana's Place - The rental was absolutely beautiful and well furnished. The only reason I rated it a 4 out of 5 is because the rental does not have a stove which for us was a much during the holiday season. The owner was gracious enough to allow us to use hers.
Baby Honu - this is oue second stay in Oahu-Kailua, and we went again for a house rental. Baby Honu was a little bit tight for a family of four, but the lanai and garden make-up largely for the small internal space, plus it is excellent valur for 4 (2 have to sleep on the futon bed in the kitchen/lounge area). the property manager (Kirsta) and her sister live next door and were very nice and of great help/advise to us. the Lili koi (paasion fruits) in garden were delicious. Kailua is an excellent base to explore all the island if you want to avoid the hassle oh Honolulu, but be aware the beach is very windy, much more than west side.
Papaya Hale' - Papaya Hale' is a wonderful place. The first thing you notice is the love, care and up-keep that has been done inside the rental and the surrounding property down to the beach (which isn't far from the back door). Gorgeous decor! The customer service we received was exceptional. Everything was either at our finger tips or put at our finger tips by the owner. First time to Oahu and we are coming back and I hope it will be to stay at Papaya Hale'. Thank you for making our trip better than we ever thought it could be .... what fun. Mahalo!
Ocean Villas at Turtle Bay 113 - The condition of the condo was excellent. The Turtle Bay Resort is well maintained.
Garden Lanai - As always, we enjoyed Lanikai! Our little house was nice and conveinient to Kailua, all the restaurant like Buzz's great, the beaches great. Not really an apartment for more than two people though, we found it cramped.
Happy Kailua Beach House - Everything was great but I am not happy that the security deposit will take up to 60 days to refund. This is a bad policy when people leave the place in as good as shape as they found it. I will not rent from Hawaiian Beach Rentals again if this your normal policy. In fact I may contact the Hawaii Better Business Bureau about this. You are using money for 60 days that is not yours. Pat Neufeldt 541-480-7880
