We really enjoyed the house. The area is perfect. The only thing that would have been better is if there were real cleaning supplies available. I bought some clorox cleaner to clean the bathroom and kitchen. The neighbors were all very friendly and having a view of the ocean from the balcony was great. We would definitely consider renting this space again.

It was clean and had everything we needed. The only down side was the ripped up parking lot, but other than that, it was fine. I particularly liked eating all the meals on the patio and watching the ocean. Very relaxing! The whole complex was very quiet.

too much to say about my stay in hawaii, it was FANTASTIC!!! the accomadations were awesome, you guys really thought of a lot.. the only somewhat bad thing to say is that the drive up made me think what did i get myself into, but after walking through the door that all went away.. i would definitly reccomend this to any couple without kids or someone looking for a little adventure in maui...

This unit was nice; the ocean view from the lani was a favorite, although our next trip to Maui we will look for another unit to try and the reason for that is the elevator shaft shares a wall with the bedroom of this unit. Everytime the elevator is in use, it can be heard which seems to be especially loud when elevator use starts about 3:30AM each day when new arrivals are up due to the time change.
I would also suggest the kitchen is a little better equipted; a knife sharpener is a must there are several knives yet all of them are very dull, a cookie sheet and possibly some plastic trays that can be used getting food down to the BBQ area. The community BBQ's are very nice and kept especially clean by the Whaler Maintenance people.
Another recommendation would be to have suitable bedding for the hide a bed in the living room. There were sheets for it in the closet, but no blankets.
All in all, a great time was had by all, and we always love to stay at the Whaler.

we've stayed at this unit a number of times....very much love the views! That's why we pick it. And, the comfy bed. This time, however, we were starting to see that the unit needs a bit of TLC...perhaps some new towels, more comfortable deck furniture...just a few things to bring it up to par.

The unit was very good. It was more than we expected being close to the ocean & the view was great! We loved the roof-top BBQ & view from there too. We did have some issues with some of the people there though. There were several occassions where they were very rude to us & our children. In one case, my children were waiting to come up to the unit on the elevator & I witnessed a couple telling them they could not get on the elevator with them. I think the people there forgot what it was like to be a 10 yr old. My children are not loud or disrepectful & there was no reason for that behaivor. That was hard to explain to them why an adult would do something like that. I probably would not rent here again with my kids because of that. It was like back in the days of slavery & the way the black people were treated. Bad enough I had to mention it.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very nice and comfortable. Somehow we didn't understand that "complete kitchen" does not include a dishwasher. There were also a few necessities that we wish we would have had for cooking - a spatula, other utensils and a dish towel. We also didn't have a broom until we asked for one. We were disappointed that there wasn't a BBQ. We had already bought our steaks before we came and so had to cook them on the stove. It would be good if others knew before they arrived that there wasn't a BBQ there. The spinkler system comes on a lot and makes a lot of mud in the parking area.

All in all it was an awesome stay. We enjyed the sunsets and walks on the beach. We enjoyed the quietness of the town and the Foodland store. We would recomend it to our friends and may even come back ourselves someday!

Needs block out shades in the Living Room. Had someone using "Hide-a-bed" and it woke her up every morning when the sun came up.

Bathroom is in need of repair. Fungus/Mold on bathtub door.. Tile was patched in with out any tile used.. Just a big glob of tile. Bathtub water handle came undone twice. Used knife to screw back in.

Needs larger hot water tank. Kept running out of hot water.

Updating was done in family room and kitchen and entry way but nothing in bathroom.

We stay at this unit in 2003' and said we would not go back to this room but was swayed by "Major Remodleing" on ad. Should have said "Some remodeling"

We spent 160.00 aned forung others paid 120.00 with a lot better unit.

THE HOUSE WAS VERY CLEAN, HOWEVER THE ONLY COMPLAINT THAT WE HAD WAS THEY HAVE A ROACH PROBLEM. THERE WERE ROACHES IN THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOM. THAT WAS JUST A BIT CREEPY FOR ME. BUT OVER ALL THE PLACE WAS GREAT.
