The unit was very nice. The second day that we were there, we saw whales spy hopping and breaching from the kitchen and balcony. The view was wonderful. The private beach was great for snorkling. It was easy to get in and out of.
The information that we got on the internet was that there was a computer and internet access. The unit had internet access, but no computer. When we talked to the property management, they said they would try to get us a loner. Then they never contacted us about it. We got swept under the carpet. Also, there was a broken door that needed repair to the balcony. The note said that it was going to be repaired soon. We never heard from the property management about this either. It was a slight inconvience as we could not use or open the second sliding door. We could open the one, but not the other. The second door would have created more ventilation.
The unit was always cool....wonderful breeze through the lanai.... Customer service was great and helpful . The luau, at Old Lahaina was a trip topper !! We felt like we were coming home, each time we entered the unit. Totally recommend this unit, and building to anyone, looking for relaxation, and a good spot, away from resorts.
What I liked best about the unit I rented was furnishings. And I was enchanted by the beauty of the scenery from this house.
I wished I could stay there longer.
What I liked best about the unit I rented was that it has been beautifully updated on the inside. The kitchen is well outfitted and has lovely slate countertops. The flooring was a combination of tile, wood laminate and carpeting in very good condition. The living room was comfy and the bedrooms were beautifully decorated with luxurious bedding. Also, it was great to have outdoor equipment (boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, etc.) available for use. Plus, the pool and hottub, while on the small side, were very well maintained and sparsly used by others, so we usually had them to ourselves. The location in Kihei was very convenient - right across the street from the beach with an ocean view from the living room. While the exterior of the building is a bit out of date, the unit itself is in excellent shape and I'd highly recommend it.
This was a wonderful rental! Clean, simple, room enough for 6 adults and 1 infant not to feel cramped, and had pretty much any amenity you would need. It is within close walking distance to the beautiful Kailua Beach Park, and we spent most of our time there during the day. That part of the beach seemed particularly calm and non-crowded. We will definitely choose this rental again when we return to Kailua.
We weren't thrilled with Kona, preferred Kauai or Maui or Molokai for future trips but if you are going to Kona, this is the ONLY place to stay. The decor was great. We felt home and relaxed at the same time. THe best beach in all of Kona is 5 mintues away. The pool and hot tub and 50 feet away. The view of the golf course is nothing but peaceful, but when you see the sunset in your bedroom window, it's glorious. And the owners were gems to work with. Extremely helpful people. Guided us to Costco and gave us their personal should any problems arise. The rental agent forgot to give us the lockbox code but Sam and Tony were on it with all the instruvtions we needed.
Our only wish, if we had one, was that this condo was on Kauai so we could use it again.
I liked that it was close to the Marine Base and it was extremly clean and roomy. The customer service was great. The best part of my trip was seeing My marine son I can not wait to tell my friends about how close it was to all things we could do and see. My advice to someone would to make sure your children are not taller than you if they are coming or count them as an adult if they are. I would recommend others going snorkeling even if you are older and have never done anything like it. My mother who is over 62 went snorking and loved it. Buying event and show tickets on base was a good tip they are little less expensive. But of course you have to be with your marine. I did not get to take a helecopter tour but I will next time.
The unit we rented was huge and huge enough to have our group of 10 not feel crowed. The house was great. Clean and well organized. Loved the location and the beach was amazing because it was clean and not overcrowed. Would certainly consider this house again although need to be more aware of the weather patterns as this side of the island sees more rain than the other and of course we got rain, 4 out of six days there.
Much easier to find with a GPS as the streets in this area are not well marked and it was a little hard to find.
The rental property was amazing and quite nicely appointed. The only issue was that it was not well stocked with items like toilet paper, low suds laundry detergent and kitchen towels. I had to purchased these items immediately upon arrival. Other than that what a great vacation spot. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded get-away.
We all had a great time. I was a bit surprised that the condo was a part of such a large group of buildings, generally I prefer a smaller location with fewer people. But the grounds were beautiful and the barbeques were nice. I never used the pool becuase I rather be at a location with fewer people and the beach had good access. The work out area was not desirable. The building it self needed work I thought. The elevator smelled like strong terrible perfume..almost couldn't stand it. The condo unit itslef was nice...again for the cost would like to have seen even more upgrades. But the view was nice and the size was good enough for 6 people. The customer service I received from Misty (the individula who rented us the unit) was great..she was helpful and gave us options and advice. The front desk was not professional and not friendly..probably becuase the staff was busy with line ups all the time.
