The Lily Pad - The Lilly Pad was better than we expected. The photos of the cottage do not do it justice. The pond and grounds were like a tropical botanical garden and the furnishings, cookware, dishes, towels, and bedding were all first rate. We loved the geckos and listening to the frogs, chickens, and rain on the metal roof at night. The cottage is about 100 yards down a dead end road away from the beach road- so it was very quiet and secluded feeling yet still within walking distance to Annini. The owners lived close and were available if needed but did not intrude. We did feel like it was our own little home away from home. The only drawback was mosquitoes but insect repellent kept them at bay. We have been to Kauai four times and this was by far the best place we stayed as far as feeling like the "real Hawaii you dream about but do not usually find". Best beaches were Hideaways in Princeville, if you can get one of the nine parking places, and Mahaulepu past the Hyatt in Poipu. Most good food for the money is the prime rib at The Bull Shed in Kapaa. Go to the Lilly Pad and enjoy the "Old Hawaii".
Two Duck Inn - we have been home from our visit to hawaii for about one week & we have some very clear & sweet memories of our stay at two duck inn. a high point of our visit was the affability of our "landlord & landlady", marty and gay. they were extremely pleasant. we looked forward to our morning coffee at the pool. it was so quiet and beautiful there. we loved just listening to the birds & gazing at the pristine garden. the "floating chairs" in the pool were an added bonus . . . so relaxing. it was great to be able to walk to the quiet, white-sand beach that was only two blocks away. we gave this rental 4 stars mainly because of marty & gay, the pool area, the beach equipment available, & a comfortable bed. our only negative report of this unit was THE DECREPIT WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER. even in april this studio apartment was 90 degrees inside. we sincerely hope they replace it with a larger unit before our next visit.
Hale Kehau - The house was fantastic!!! I loved waking up each morning and watching the sunrise from my bed!! The amount of "extras" at the house, masks, snorkels, boggies boards, etc.,was an unexpected pleasure. We couldn't have had a better time. We loved the Ono Family restaurant and Duane's Ono Burgers. We will definately be back!
Stunning Oceanfront Suite - We were married on Oahu during our stay at the "Stunning Oceanfront Suite"...it was a perfect honeymoon get-a-way! The unit was extremely clean and well kept as well as the property grounds. The beach is only a few steps away from the front door which included a breathetaking opportunity for a stroll on the beach. We were able to watch the sunrise every morning...spectacular!...and every night leave the door open to listen to the calming sounds of the ocean. The owners were very gracious and accommodating with all of our needs. I highly recommend this unit for the couple who needs to "run away" from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we did!! Aloha!
Hale Plumeria Sunset Beach - Being close to the beach was just great. The house was nicely furnished and decorated - lots of surfing pictures!
Plenty to see and do on the North Shore - we loved it. Sunset Beach was just beautiful and quiet.
Lani Kai Guest Cottage - The unit we rented was the most beautiful cottage ever. My husband and I loved how close to everything, food, beaches and shopping. The only problem we had was finding the place. The instructions were a bit vague, mile markers would be better to use. But the place was awsome. No complaints.
Mauna Lani Golf Villas E-1 - Beautiful, well-kept townouse. Very responsive property manager. We had problems with the refridgerator which were resolved immediately.
Napili Kai Hale - We loved the home, very comfortable - the stained glass is amazing. Loved the seal & turtles swimming in the inlet. Loved the sound of the waves. Great sleeping sounds!
We were disapointed it wasn't a swimming beach - guess we'll know what to ask next time.
Roy's is a GREAT restaurant, right around the corner & fabulous food.
If the waves are high, try DT Flemming beach w/boogie boards - what a blast!
Plumeria Studio - The studio was comfortable, quiet, and privately accessible. Audry was personable, friendly, and kind enough to help us locate a PCA Presbyterian Church nearby, which we enjoyed. After four nights at the Hilton Beach Resort, we enjoyed the peace and slower pace.
