Happy Kailua Beach House - The house is clean, organized, and well maintained. It also was fully stocked with beach toys and gear for kids and families. Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay very much and had plenty of room in this cute house.
Hale Manoa Haena - Thanks for a great stay. Ke'Ke beach as well as the Na'Pali coast were fabulous. Dont change a thing, especially the character of this perfect corner of Hawaii.
Aloha!
Garden Lanai - The cottage was beautifully decorated and clean. It was quiet and provided a very homey environment. My daughter was not feeling well so we ended up spending quite a bit of time in the unit - fortunately, the garden was sunny and a beautiful spot to read while she rested. Good for those looking to relax and just be!
Hale Kihei - What I liked best about this unit is the splendid view, the location and the serene atmosphere. The unit was very clean and I loved having a few of the basics in the kitchen needed to put a meal together. That is what I refer to as "consideration" the salt, pepper, some coffee, the coffee filters - these basics were very much appreciated.
I felt very much at home in this unit. Recommend this unit to anyone who is looking to just kick back, relax and do some sight-seeing, hiking.
Alii Kai 9F - Our stay in Alii Kai 9F was very good. It was such a pleasant feeling to see just how tastefully the condo was decorated. The kitchen had all of the basic things one would need to do all of the basic cooking. However, one day my daughter said that she would like to have fried chicken. The frying pans were just a little too small for cooking a whole chcken. So.... we were going to Costco that morning to buy some more provisions. We found a 12" saute pan with glass lid that would
do the job. We left the pan there in unit. By the way... it would have been even nicer if it were fried "ROOSTER" that night! It would only be fair to future guests that you provided more updated pictures of the view of the distant mountain
range. It must have been so beautiful before the LARGE CONDO UNITS were built across the street. However, you can still see the tops of the mountain range with the waterfalls after a big rain downfall. The people that managed the units were very helpful and answered all of our questions.
Mahalo
Hale Kehau - The wonderful view of the beach and the reef from all rooms was fantastic! We enjoyed walks on the beach, collecting shells and relaxing in the jacuzzi. The layout of the house was great for the two of us but would be excellent for a family. Everyday we would go out to explore the island but were always happy to return to the house. Favorite activities were a helicopter ride, kayaking the Hanalei River, and hiking the Na Pali Coast.
Kihei Kai Hale- 3 bedroom - The location of the rental was very convienent. It was roomy, very clean and the service was excellent. The best part of the trip was spending time at the beautiful beaches, and in the water snorkeling. All of the restaurants close to the house are excellent. We went to PUPU's, the Bada Bing, Alexanders, and Fat Daddys. All the food was excellent. The food at Mama's fish house was great but nowhere near worth the price they charge. Entrees there range from $36-110. Way too expensive. My advice to anyone staying here is bring earplugs, the neighbors to the west are very loud almost every night and they have numerous roosters. The rental would have gotten five flowers if not for them.
Ho'ohu Nani - What I liked best about the unit I rented was that when we finally saw it in person it was WAAAY better than we expected. The pictures and virtual tour made it look pretty nice, but in reality it was phenominal!!! We LOVED the house and did not ever want to leave.
The customer service I received was top notch. Everything from the booking and payment arrangements to the access into the house was effortless to us.
The best part of my trip was my wedding on Shipwreak beach of course:) - and then we had dinner at Tidepools restaurant at the Grand Hyatt. It was so close that we walked home along the ocean front walkway for a beautiful end to our special day. We had debated booking a room at the Hyatt for our wedding night but we were glad we didn't. There is no way the room there for $500 a night would have been anywhere near as nice as the room we alreadcy had at the house- with a walk in closet, king size bed, lanai off our room, huge bathroom with 2 sinks, a jacuzzi tub and a huge walk in shower that you never wanted to get out of.
The best restaurant I found was The Beach House Restaurant and Tidepools was a close second.
The best picture I took was of a sunset from the Lanai at the house - we had a beautiful view of the ocean.
The part of my trip I would definitely recommend to others is hiking the Napali Coast trail to the beach (2 miles) and then waterfall (2 miles). Be warned this is not for beginner hikers though!
The best "insider tip" I received while on my trip was not to take the Napali Coast sailing trip with Blue Dolphin if you were prone to sea sickness. We cancelled that and rebooked a 2 hour sunset sail on the south end and I was still sea sick for 2 hours. The 5 and 1/2 Napali trip would have been awful for me!
I didn't have time this trip, but next trip to Hawaii I'm looking forward to the plantation tubing and maybe a helicopter tour.
Waikoloa Beach Villas L-23 - - The unit was superior, beautifully decorated, all of the amenties (except we could find ironing board/iron) spacious and comfortable. The garage was a plus as well.
- Philippa was super helpful - much appreciated.
- Hapuna Beach was fantastic and just a short drive away.
- Queen's Market Place was super handy and had a great sushi restaurant.
Villages at Mauna Lani - Maile 604 - The townhouse was just as beautiful as the pictures shown! It was perfect for a group of seven; myself, my husband, our 2 children, my parents and my mother-in-law. The lanai was great - we ate most of our meals out there and grilled often. The inside and outside were well maintained. A few small ants showed up after we left some food on the counter - we learned quickly to put everything in the refrigerator and had no issues after that. The resort itself is a well maintained property with several very good restaurants - a little pricey. It was great having a grocery store on the property and just a few blocks away from the townhouse. The private beach for those staying at the townhouses was very nice and good for snorkeling as well. It is definitely more than a 20 minute walk (more like 45) - so you'll want to drive to it and make sure you're there before 9:30 a.m. to ensure you are able to get beach chairs. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Make sure you go to the shopping area at night - they have a free show each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening at 7 and 8 p.m. near the water fountain. There are different shows each night which are very entertaining as well as educational. It was great place to stay and I would highly recommend it to others!
