Vacation review for Turtle Bay Condo Gardenia in Turtle Bay, Oahu:
I did not care for this unit at all. It was not clean or well maintained. There was no internet service as advertised, no beach towels, no view of mountains or fairway, just a tree. Don't use the garbage disposal because it does not work and if you call to get it fixed after it backs up they will try to keep your security deposit for the plumbing bill. The air conditioner in the main bedroom smells like mildew and you can't leave the bedroom slider open because the screen is broken and there is no ceiling fan. Don't expect the quality you might get at the Turtle Bay Resort hotel because you will not get it here. Most everyone at Hawaiian Beach Rentals was helpful and Sion did resolve the security deposit issue to my satisfaction. So, if you don't plan to spend any time in the unit including eating and sleeping you might enjoy it but I would reccommend finding someplace else to stay. There are far better options in this price range on the North Shore and the beach and restaraunts etc... at Turtle Bay are open to the public anyway. The best "insider tip" I received was after we got home and my friend who lived on Oahu for many years said "I always heard those condos were unreliable at best".
Other than that, I highly reccommend you venture the east side of the island because it is beautiful. The Polynesian Cultural Center is a good show. The Hang Ten Bar at the resort is a nice place to watch the sunset just watch the margaritas. Haleiwa is a cool place to eat and shop and the North Shore beaches are awesome but you should go to Waikiki, too.
