Arts and Crafts Heaven at Kauai Vacation Rentals

November 23rd, 2007

If your idea of fun is all things arts and crafts and you want to incorporate this into your Hawaiian vacation, then you will want to stay in a Kauai vacation rental. The island of Kauai is a crafter’s dream. On almost any given day you can find a festival or event involving the arts and crafts. What a better way to spend your vacation than by enjoying local arts and crafts and learning from local communities. Indigenous arts and crafts are abundant on the island of Kauai and you will not have to go far to find them. During your stay in a Kauai Vacation rental you will not want to miss the following three weekly festivals. The Aloha Center in Nawiliwili Town has an art festival every Tuesday and displays handmade crafts, fine art, and even classes and demonstrations in Hawaiian arts. Walk through this festival and talk to local artists. Another must see is the West Kauai Craft Fair held every Thursday in Waimea. This craft event is a favorite among all who attend. At this craft fair you will see a famous handmade paper artist, along with beautiful handmade beads, quilts, and jewelry. You may also want to pick up a photograph from one of the local photographers to remember your vacation. On Friday you will want to go to Friday Art Night in Hanapepe. Most shops and retail stores stay open late for art night making it a perfect outing for local shopping and a bite to eat.
