Holoholokai Beach
Description
What this small beach park lacks in a sandy shoreline, it makes up in gorgeous ocean and mountain vistas, shady picnic areas, public restrooms with handicapped parking and picnic tables. In addition, there is a public beach trail that allows access to the sandy shoreline beach areas fronting the Fairmont Orchid Resort. In addition, visitors to this beach are welcome to take the short self-guided tour though the Puako Petroglyph Park located at the north edge of the parking lot. The park allows visitors to experience the rock carvings of ancient Hawaiians.
This beach is perfect for picnicking, beachcombing and exploring the numerous tidal pools, the unpredictable pounding surf and unpredictable currents make it not the best beach for novice swimmers but a wonderful spot for expert divers and fishermen.
