Kilauea is a small town with remarkable charm, the Kilauea Bakery and Pau Hana Pizza is the center of activity and a locals' "go-to" location for baked goods. The combined name reflects the shift of food, and atmosphere shift which occurs through the day. In the morning light pastries and fine coffees from the full service espresso bar, fill the air with aromas. Free wifi makes the atmosphere a bit like an internet caf in the mornings, but with courtyard seating the outside areas make for expansive seating options to spread out as a family for a breakfast stop before hitting the beach. If your hunger isn't immediate, the hearty baked meat "Breakfast Strombolis" make great breakfast take-outs.
Pau Hana Pizza:
Though the name is different, they share the same location. By afternoon ( but really as early as 10:30 a.m.), the pizza oven might entice you to stop in for "pizza by the slice", calzones, hot sandwiches or full custom pizzas made to order.
Our Staff's Picks:
Pizzas slices here are solid "grinds", which is Hawaiian slang for "good snacks".
But both the morning breakfast pastries, and the hot oven sandwiches are great options as well. Check the daily specials board for the selections offered.
