Holes/Yardage: 18- Par 70- 6,388 Blue/6,010 White/5563 Red
Price Range: $205 peak, $119 after 1 p.m.
Location: Ka'anapali, 10 minutes north of Lahaina
Bonuses: The ocean is along several of the fairways, the course has very little slope.
The Kai was renovated by Hawaii's prolific golf course designer Robin Nelson in 2005. The redesign made the course a better play of strategic golf, where power is less important then strategy. Throughout the course layout there are natural water features, canals, gulches, and even areas of lava rock as boundaries. Portions of the Kai Course are on the uphill area above the resorts. The elevation change gets you great views and removes you from the resort hustle.
Local's Tip:
The courses in Ka'anapali are close to the ocean and the adjacent beaches and resorts make for the perfect destination for the non-golfer's in your crew to enjoy themselves while you play your round.
