Kahuku Golf Club

Description

This windward coast municipal golf course is maintained through the county and reaching it involves a drive to the country that gives great scenic rewards. Perched along the low dunes fronting the ocean, the rolling windy terrain provides a mixture that can feel like Scottish play on a tropical beach. On shore winds known locally as the "trades" are strong here, guaranteed to cool you off and maybe even help push a put a little further or give you a few more yards to your tee shot.

Highlights: Oahu's most affordable ocean front golf, requiring you to drive out to the country via some of the scenic portions of the island.
Challenges: The wind can blow strong here and make for difficult play. No riding carts as this shorter yardage course has only walking or pull cart options.
Holes/Yardage: 9 hole design-Par 70-5,398 White/5,398 Red when played as 18.
Price Range: $33 18 holes/ $16.50 for 9
Location: Kahuku, Oahu, Hawaii
Bonuses: Affordable oceanfront golf, try 9 but stay for 18 if your enjoying the play. Hand cart and club rentals available on site.

This sporty nine-hole golf course is charming and as affordable as they come. The yardage on the course is short and there are no riding carts available, so come prepared to walk and get some exercise. It definitely adds a level of responsibility and understanding of your yardage game when you have to walk to the ball. Playing the course twice to get your eighteen-hole game will also give you great practice, pulling upon your previous approach to the hole on your last round of nine.

Local's Tip:
Plan some beach stops, activities or scenic stops for the remainder of your day while golfing in Kahuku. The famous North Shore beaches like Sunset, and Waimea are near by, as well as Turtle Bays Kuilima Cove for snorkeling.
