Pyramid Rock Beach is a one Hawaii's best kept secrets. Named after a pyramid shaped rock along the coastline, this beach boasts natural green plants and tropical flowers, powderwhite sand and crystal clear water. Located in Kaneohe Marine Corps Base (MCBH) on Oahu's Windward sided Mokapu Peninsula, this hidden secret will definitely offer a magical experience for those able to enjoy.

HIGHLIGHTS: Located on MCBH in Kaneohe Bay, Pyramid Rock Beach is known for good surf as well as shorebreak. Military affiliates are able to reach this beach by crossing the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base airstrip. Mornings here offer splendid sunrises accented by blue skies and coastal cliffs.
ACTIVITIES: Surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, swimming, long beach walks, snorkeling, scuba diving, freediving, skin diving, shelling, picnics, barbecuing, family parties, fishing.
LIFEGUARD: YES Monday through Friday: from 11:30am to 6:00pm. Weekends and holidays: 8:00am to 6:00pm.
WARNINGS!: Sometimes high surf, strong current and/or jellyfish appearances. Be aware of sharp coral and rocks in some areas.
AMENITIES: Generous parking area, beach showers, rentable pavilions and rental cottages.
HOURS: As Pyramid Rock Beach is located on a military base, this beach is open most hours while curfew doesn't apply.

A panoramic view from the beach reveals the former military lookout shack on top of Pyramid Rock on the left, miles of white sanded beach access and more cliffs on the right side. If you're into surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing or love to have a front row view of any watersport, this beach is the perfect spot for you. Pyramid Rock Beach is layered with green tropical plants, white sand and turquoise waters inhabited by tourists or large groups of people. Here, many military affiliates host barbeques, party events or any type of social gathering with the rentable pavilions provided. With small crowds of people, Pyramid Rock Beach has a reputation to by one's very own private beach. For those looking for an extended stay away from an accustomed fastpaced lifestyle, the Marine Corps Community Services offers vacation rentals. Known as The Cottages at Kaneohe Bay, these rentals are the prized jewels at Kaneohe Bay. Each of 13 units have 2+ bedrooms, a full kitchen, cable TV, daily housekeeping and much more. A regular day at a cottage would offer an amazing Hawaiian sunrise, barbecuing on the lanai, walks on the beach in front of your vacation home and the freedom to venture within the breeding grounds of Hawaiian monk seal and the green sea turtle.

*Note: This area of the Kaneohe Bay is split by both Pyramid Rock Beach on the left and North Beach on the right. Although both are very similar, North Beach is known for more sharp rocks,
less sand and a stronger rip current when there is high surf.

*As this beach is located on a military base, there are no accounts of theft or stolen valuables on the beach or in the parking lot.

Directions: To MCBH KBay from the Honolulu International Airport:
Take the H1 Freeway West (H1 Waianae) as you're departing from the Honolulu International Airport.
Proceed on H1 West, and then connect on to the H3 East freeway to Kaneohe.
Proceed on H3 until you reach the main gate of MCBH Kaneohe Bay. To Pyramid Rock Beach from MCBH gate entrance:
Follow the main road until the second stop light.
Take a left and proceed down the road that will lead you across the MCBH airstrip.
Continue up the road and you'll arrive at the beach. Parking lot access will be on your right.
