Polynesian Cultural Center

Description

One of the most popular tourist activities on the island, the Polynesian Cultural Center is a treasure trove of education and fun waiting to be discovered.

Rich with the history, culture, and beauty of the islands of the South Pacific, the Polynesian Cultural Center invites you to take a step back into island history and visit these unique cultures in an up-close, hands-on way. The sprawling area is divided into six "villages," Tonga, Tahiti, Marquesas, Hawaii, Fiji, Aotearoa (New Zealand), and Samoa. Each village contains special demonstrations and hands-on activities representing its specific culture and daily life. Play local games, sample food, watch New Zealand (Aotearoa) warriors perform the the Haka (war dance), learn the meaning behind tribal tattoos (and get your owntemporary, of course!), beat out your own rhythm on a native drum, learn Tahitian dance, watch Samoans shimmy up 40-foot coconut trees and end your day at one of the center's luau options or the night-time show Ha: Breath of Life. A story of passion, ignited by fire, song, and dance.
