Olomana Golf Links

Description

This windward coast course is where President Obama sometimes golfs when he is on his island vacation in neighboring Kailua. This classic Hawaiian golf experience was created back in the early 1960's by designer Bob Baldock and plays well for golfers of varied skill levels. Olomana features beautiful views of the Ko'olau Mountains, lush landscaping and the cool refreshing ocean breezes of the "trade winds".

Highlights: Lush green mountain views set the background as you enjoy golfing in paradise, with less traffic then the resorts
Challenges: The course design features two distinct styles to the front and back 9 holes, the front 9 has some water hazards but not many bunkers. Wind sheer gets stronger on the back 9, and the terrain is more rolling hills.
Holes/Yardage: 18-Par 72-6,306 Blue tees/5,907 White/5,473 Red
Price Range: $100- peak morning hours/ $ 85-twilight
Location: Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii
Bonuses: On-site club rentals: $45. Chipping and putting green, driving range, and restaurant.

Olomana is worth the drive even from the leeward side, as it brings a different cooler climate zone, with rural scenery and amazing beaches close by for after your round. The Golf Club at Olomana is now managed by Pacific Golf Links International, a North America based golf course management firm, so expect on-going improvements to the playability of the course and amenities.
