The South Course is recommended for honing your skills before attempting the more challenging layout of the North Course. Nearby Beaches Beautiful beaches in this area include Hapuna Beach, which is the island's largest white sand beach, and also Anaehoomalu Bay which is good for snorkeling and scuba diving, and the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishpond. Kaunaoa Beach is a lovely crescent of sand also known as Mauna Kea Beach, located on Kaunaoa Bay. Snorkeling and swimming are usually very good at Samuel Spencer Beach Park which is protected by an outside reef, and it's also just a short walk from the historic Puukohola Heiau built by King Kamehameha I.
