Hawaii Boat Tours Thrill and Delight Visitors. The three best boat trip in Hawaii take you to an offshore crater, a stunning coastline, and the site of molten lava pouring into the sea.

Maui
One of Hawaii’s boat trips is the journey to Molokini Crater to see the abundant marine life living in the crescent-shaped remains of a volcanic crater. Molokini is also a State Seabird Sanctuary.

Located less than three miles off Maui’s western shore, Molokini crater has a diameter of just under one-half mile providing a protected area that is enjoyed by snorkelers as well as scuba divers. The arc of the partially submerged crater rim provides protection from currents and waves.

You can also enjoy the newer activity called snuba which involves using a diving mask and fins as well as a regulator, as in scuba diving, but the air comes through a hose connected to a raft on the surface rather than from tanks strapped on your back.
Molokini is considered one of the world’s premier diving and snorkeling locations with visibility up to 150 feet and about 250 species of fish along with other marine life. Molokini snorkel tours depart from Kihei as well as Maalaea Harbor.

Kauai
Another spectacular Hawaii boat trip is the journey along the Na Pali Coast on Kauai’s western shore. Extending from Kee Beach on the north shore for sixteen miles to Polihale on the southwest shore, the Na Pali is known for its stunning seacliffs that rise steeply from the sea and rise up into pinnacles and cathedral spires.

A series of deep and verdant valleys along the Na Pali are lined with waterfalls were home to Hawaiians in ancient times. A rugged 11-mile trail leads from Kee Beach to Kalalau Valley but a boat charter is a much more leisurely way to see this remote and majestic area.

Big Island
Another amazing Hawaii boat trip is the Kalapana Lava Boat that takes you to see the molten lava flowing into the sea on the southeast coast of the Big Island. A two and one-half hour boat tour takes you along the Puna coastline to Kalapana where the glowing red fingers of lava pour into the ocean amidst spectacular explosions and .

Narration during this ocean journey will fill you in about the volcano goddess Pele and the legends of Hawaiian culture as well as the geology of this unique area. Feel the heat from the volcano as you hear the crackling and bursting sounds of the red-hot lava hitting the sea amidst explosions of steam and gas. This is a front row seat to nature at its best!
After seeing the lava from the ocean you can take a drive up to Volcanoes National Park at the summit of Kilauea Volcano to see where all this lava is coming from! You can also take a Big Island fishing charter and go after big game fish such as thousand-pound marlin known as “granders.” That would be the next entry if this article was entitled Four Best Boat Trips in Hawaii.
