This excursion is beyond your basic snorkel charter, and can be a treat for the experienced snorkeler or open minded adventurer. Departing from Port Allen in the early morning, the journey begins with a breakfast cruise up, then down the Na Pali Coast wilderness. As 3000 foot rock spires tower overhead like ancient medieval castles, a view bigger then your camera frame inspires awe in the truest sense.

Motoring at speed northward up the coast dolphins surf the bow waves of your boat as you reach the epic 3-mile deep verdant valley known as Kalalau. The boat then turns around and assumes a gentle cruising speed supplying loads of green valley and cliff side waterfall views for about a 45 minutes. With gentle conditions your captain may even show you a sea cave or two up close, as well as some remote beaches.

As your boat ends its traverse of the remote Na Pali Coast, the captain turns west to cross the ocean channel to Ni'ihau. Few tourists ever reach this remote island and it is largely undeveloped and inhabited by a small population of native Hawaiians and the family of the islands owners. The reefs in the area are pristine and well populated, especially around the crescent shaped island of Lehua. A seabird sanctuary, and resting place for the endangered Hawaiian monk seal the landscape is raw and shows the power of the epic forces of nature that have eroded the land down to the lava rock core that remains. Lehua is the oldest piece of land in the entire State of Hawaii, snorkeling it is memorable as the jagged eroded surfaces continue underwater and are filled with well-developed corals, fish colonies, and a host of other undersea life. The occasional monk seal, white tip reef shark, or sea turtle may even show itself, further evidence that this marine habitat is very healthy.

Local's Tip:
The charter crew will provide snorkel instructions, floatation gear, and lifeguard supervision when your boat anchors. They have 5 different dive zones to choose from based on weather and ocean conditions. Make sure to check in with the lifeguard if you are a new snorkeler, and swimming with a "buddy" is recommended.

*The channel crossing can have intense ocean conditions, be prepared and have motion sickness medicines at the ready and watch your food and hydration intake.
