Kailua Farmer's Market
Description
This vibrant, bustling farmer's market is a favorite with locals and tourists alike. Although packed with vendors selling local produce and foods, it's much more than just a spot to pick up your fruits & veggies for the week. Visitors can get dinner from one of the many local restaurant booths and relax at one of the provided tables or on a picnic blanket while they enjoy the weekly live music and make some new friends. The market features a wide and eclectic range of food and other items including ready-to-eat meals, soap, jewelry and crafts, locally-raised beef, jams and honey, locally-crafted vegan chocolate, homemade ice cream and popsicles, plants and cut flowers, bread, fresh eggs, and much more. It is a definite must-see while you're on the windward side of Oahu!
AT A GLANCE:
Located in the charming beach town of Kailua, the farmer's market is a weekly event (Thursday evenings) that takes place at the parking lot at the Kailua Town Center, near Whole Foods, Longs, and Pier-1 Imports. The market always attracts a crowd, and some of the most popular vendors include Andy's Bueno Salsa (the dill-pickle salsa is a must-try!), Waimanalo Country Farms (serving up fresh, ice-cold strawberry and li hing lemonade in a mason jar), Petit Suise Crepes (using all local produce and honey), Ono Pops (gourmet popsicles), Ahualoa Farm (a macadamia nut farm on the Big Island), and Vixaysack Farm.
Local restaurants, including Da Spot, Pig and the Lady, Chef Sean's Soul Patrol, Grandma G's, and Olay Thai dish out ready-to-eat plate meals such as jambalaya, sushi sliders, pan seared Opakapaka, locally-sourced burgers, baklava, and more. There are also a range of vegan, raw, and gluten-free options.
Live music creates a festive feel, and families and friends often congregate here to shop, grab dinner, and talk story while enjoying the music.
