If you love to see Hawaii’s underwater sea life but scuba diving is a little too much for you, then Snuba may be your answer.

Scuba Diving has too many tanks and gauges for some people, and the learning curve is daunting.  Snuba allows you to get down in the sea and see some fish without all the time commitment,

Snuba allows you to get up close and personal with the fish and all the other wonderful creatures of the sea, much better than snorkeling.  In Snuba you get your air supply from a scuba tank floating above on the surface, so you can swim around below connected only by the air hose.

Most companies will have a scuba diver with you in the water for safety reasons.  Whenever you contact a guide company make sure and ask pertinent safety questions, including the ages they allow, the guest to instructor ratio, and their supervision plan.

That said, you will be absolutely amazed at the variety of tropical fish and other marine life in Hawaiian waters, from eels to trumpetfish to sea slugs and sharks – yes, I said it, sharks, but these are usually just small reef sharks known to be quite uninterested in human encounters, and so a mutual parting of the ways suffices to allow you to continue an enjoyable adventure.
