The home has a beautiful outlook and was located perfectly for us in regard to being out of the frenzy of Waikiki, close to beautiful local beaches and local shops for groceries. The home itself was quite dark, not very clean, a lot of bugs and cockroaches, the doors were very difficult to open and the louver windows were rusted shut and the electrical wiring was questionable with numerous sparks when plugging and unplugging appliances. There were a few basics missing like salt and pepper, fly spray, no flashlights, night lights burnt out. The owner lived on site and was friendly and helpful but we were unaware they lived on site may be worthwhile informing renters.

AWESOME! What a wonderful home. It is beautiful and playful. Your feel like you are in a tree house. Yes you are beachfront with the most amazing sunrises ever! We enjoyed kayaking out to China Mans Hat and snorkeling next to the ranch. The central location on the island couldn't be more perfect. Our kids loved the house and awesome yard to stretch out, play, and run around in; while my husband and I totally appreciated the peace and the yard and space to "de-compress". Everything went so smoothly from the reservation, to arrival, and then sadly our departure. We will absolutely be coming back!

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! We don't have one bad comment regarding this rental, every aspect of it was absolutely flawless and above what we had imagined. The only question we had prior to arriving was how close it was to the water itself, and we actually had our own private beach. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice. Waking up in the master bedroom has a breath taking view that gave an even more relaxing and enjoyable start to each day. The hammock is in the most amazing location in a gazebo over the water, the perfect setting for evening naps. Can't stop talking about it, most relaxing trip to date, would recommend it to anybody!!
Very nice house in a great area. It was convienient to all the things we had planned in our vacation. We especially enjoyed using the two kayaks to go out to Chinaman's Hat island. Our entire family really enjoyed staying at Happy Haole Hale and would love to do it again.

Happy Haole Hale provides a tranquil hideaway - A perfect contrast to the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. Whether sipping a blender drink on the porch, sunning and reading in the lawn chairs, or just relaxing in the hammock, the view cannot be beat! I enjoyed the sliding doors that can be pushed completely aside, merging the outdoor living space with the living room. This does welcome the geckos in, but I found them charming. The well-maintained grounds are beautiful with many flowers and palm trees. The beds are comfortable and the nights are very quiet. Oh, except for the sound of the palms rustling in the breeze. Ahhhh. Check-in is easy, and the owner is next door for anything you might need. Happy Haole Hale is a perfect launching point if you want to explore the entire island. If I has to find something negative it would be the trash on the shoreline the tide leaves behind.

This rental was so beautiful! We all loved the lay out and bamboo island style. The views are awesome, no matter what time of day. The bay is serene and so private. We all loved our morning kayak trips to the beach on the other side. We saw turtles and a few fish. There s a great fruit stand down the road and everything was easy to get to as well went we went site seeing. The house is equiped with everything we needed in the kitchen. My advice for anyone staying is to bring bug spray, cuz there is mosqitoes!!!! I would definately come back to this happy house.
