About Maui Golf Courses

In the Hawaiian Islands you will find some of the most scenic and beautiful golf courses ever conceived. Maui alone has 12 public access golf courses within the county so there is no end to the vacation golfing possibilities. Each course has its own flavor and appeal, and all have unique environments incorporating beautiful views and tropical scenery through out their design.  Famous tournaments have taken place on some, while others are off the radar gems that provide great relaxing play away from the pressure of the more prestigious resort oriented clubs.

At a Glance:

Highlights: With many world-class courses all within a short drive, featuring our tropical weather, Maui is golfer's paradise with year round playability.
Activity Level: Moderate to strenuous. Best to come with previous golf experience courses are well designed and often difficult for the beginner.
Options:  12 public access courses on island, 2 linked by ferry on adjacent Lana'i. Fly here with your clubs or rent them for a day. Most courses have name brand rentals on-site available for your round.
Hazards: The courses on Maui have a good deal of slope, as well as sun exposure. Stay on course, as out of bounds in Hawaii often means lava and thorns.
Price Range: $35 to $350

Truth is you could build an entire vacation out of golfing on Maui.
For the avid golfer, there are several championship courses designed by famed architects, like Robert Trent Jones and Robin Nelson, as well as Pro golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and Arnold Palmer to name a few.

For the casual golfer there are many options for enjoying some leisure on the links during your stay, you will find that the play here is relaxed and you will often be teamed up with other visitors. Many local pro shops have club rentals and gear available so that you need not even bring your clubs, the courses often have on-site  rentals as well.

The various regions of the islands host different course conditions, from hot and dry coastal Wailea, to the windy slopes of Kaupalua Plantation Course, or the cool elevated Upcountry charm of the Pukalani Country Club. Regardless of location, all are striving for the highest quality golfing experience that they can create, hoping to draw visitors to play a round during their Maui vacation.

Winds/Weather:

Each course has its' nuances of weather. Wind is your main constant in Maui, often game play early or late in the day allows you to enjoy less windy conditions. Visiting the website for your respective course and reading up on the weather is a great way to plan your tee time for best play. In the islands early tee times are less hot and windy.
