  • We found the grounds and facilities excellent, although the condo itself was quite dated and in need of some upgrading and cleaning, the bed was old and extremely uncomfortable as well as the couch. We had only three forks and the glasses and dishes had dirt on them because the dishwasher did not clean properly. These are simply points to note it did not ruin our holiday as the overall resort was very pleasant.

  • This was a lovely location, right at Baby Beach. The house is in excellent condition bar the broken hinge in the kitchen. The rooms are a good size with great lanais off all rooms facing the ocean. The area is quiet and well kept. we thoroughly enjoyed our week on Kauaii and look forward to our next visit.

Hibiscus Hale - 4BR Home with Private Pool

  • We stayed as an extended family of 9 people, with 3 small children and we found the house was fabulous. We were able to have personal space when desired and yet be all together at times as well. The basement rec room was perfect for the kids with lots of games and space for them to play. We would definitely rent this house again in the future. We did find the pool lights were an issue. We saw the note left by the owners but unfortunately, following the instructions did not fix the problem. We are aware a part is on order and are sure that issue will be dealt with. Overall, we had a great trip. Thanks for the use of your wonderful home!

Garden Bungalow Waimea Bay - 3BR Home

  • the house was nice and very convenient! i agree with the other reviewers that it was a bit difficult to eat as a group. also, we never found the fire pit (which had been a big selling point even though we looked everywhere and had even bought stuff to make s,mores!). all in all, i definitely recommend this place - walking distance to the beach, supermarket, great snorkel sites, and waimea state park. i wouldn't have traded our spot on the north shore for anything! thank you!

Kuhio Shores - 2BR Condo #211

  • Kuhio Shores 211 is located on a beautiful property but the unit itself is in desperate need of updating. The unit was clean but the furniture is not comfortable, older TV with no DVD player but a VCR (who uses VCRs anymore?), appliances are on their last leg (can't put much in the refrigerator or it stops working, dishwasher leaks). The drapes in the bedrooms need to be replaced with shutters (or at least a blackout curtain) in order to keep out the light from outdoor lights at night. Unit location is good and the view of the ocean is spectacular. I would not recommend this unit to others but would recommend Kuhio Shores. I will hold off reviewing your agency until I see how long it takes to get my deposit returned (up to 60 days is ridiculous!)

Pali Ke Kua - 1BR Condo Ocean View #241

  • We had a great stay at Pali Ke Kua 241. We were able to book it on short notice, and stayed for six nights. The unit is very well located, within 10 minutes walking distance to several nice beaches including one on Hanalei Bay itself. The unit was very clean when we arrived, and although we had some maintenance issues (lights out) during our stay, the staff was very responsive. We would definitely return.

  • We stayed at Hale Ohana to celebrate my husbands 40th bday. The house was beautiful and we absolutely loved the views. The customer service was great. The beach is very mellow and good for smaller children. The best part of our trip was the amazing sunsets from the lanai. Our trip was one we will cherish always.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Kamaole Sands. Nice complex, great location, and affordable. The condo was in excellent shape and very close to a lot of nice beaches. The highlight being Big beach and Ahihi Cove, both a short drive away. The only suggest I would make is a more comprehensive list of condo and complex amenities. It was only after we bought beach supplies (umbrella, towels, etc) did we discover a plethora of goods in the condo itself (chairs, boogie boards, towels, umbrella) and it was only after we checked out that I saw that the complex rents paddle boards. We would most certainly stay there again.

Sea Shells Beach House on Ka'anapali Beach

  • Sea Shells Beach House was the perfect fit for our family! It was pure luxury with the added touches to make it accessible for my wheelchair bound son. The house was immaculate, and closets stocked with enough bath and pool towels to last a week! The concierge staff was wonderful and went out of their way to get everything we needed including groceries. Special thanks to Sandy for spending hours finding a bath chair and bed rails for my son. The entire house and back yard is paradise. We look forward to coming back next year!

  • hale lanui is hands down the best home rental experience i have had in maui. i mean this house is fully loaded. plenty of beach supplies, towels basketball, soccer and tennis equipment. tons of spices in the kitchen if you feel like staying in to cook. the location is to die for. 2 blocks from kihei main road so if you want to hit a bar for happy hr or go to foodland for groceries it is really really easy and convenient. it sleeps 12 so great for large groups or a big family. it really felt like a home away from home. the ocean view is spectacular. great price as well. i was really sad to leave. i highly recommend it to anyone!!!!

  • The house and the location were evevy thing that we expected. There was plenty of room for the eleven of us the enjoy ourselvers with room the spread out (plenty of beds)! The view was outstandind! The kitchen was well stacked - easy to keep clean. The washer and dryer were a great help. We cooked lots of meals. The pool did not get as much use as I expected. If You have an evening flight leaving, the 10 am checkout does not work very well - 1 PM would be very nice!

Waimea Bay View Bungalows - 6BR

  • Loved the main house and the cottage was good as a bunkhouse for the kids (and one dad). The houses were clean and were as advertised. The view from the main house is awesome. The only negative is the constant traffic noise as the house is close to the Kam highway. Would definitely book again with the rental agent, but not sure if we would go back to this property due to the high noise level, particularly at the cottage.

  • The condo was in excellent condition, the service from the booking agen was very good and overall we were satisfied. We had ordered two extra beds from a vendor referred by the rental agent. The sheets that came witht he beds were not clean so we used the sheets that were available in the condo. These were also not clean. It appears your requirement that we wash towels, sheets etc. results in people leaving unclean sheets floded and put back on the shelf. It also puts hardship on people who have to packup, cleanup, wash and leave by 10 AM. Hope you will reconsider this policy. It would also help if hair drier and extra soap was provided as we ran out of soap and we had not brought any with us. We will certainly recommend this place to our friends as we liked the location and proximity to the beautiful poipue beach.

Beachside Villa - 4BR Home Ocean View

  • This was a gorgeous house, in an absolutely amazing location. We didn't want to leave. The photos on the site were descriptive, and the house was even better than it looked on the site. We were really looking for a nice place, as close to the beach as possible, that had a nice design sense. This was definitely the place. The pool was great to have as well, as with the kids, and the beach being a bit windy (this is the 'windward' side of Oahu) we couldn't spend all day every day on the beach. Between the beach, relaxing in the house and swimming in the pool, we got exactly what we were looking for. And, Kailua was a great, non-touristy spot with a small downtown, and Whole Foods within a 5 minute drive. We would definitely rent again. The service was very friendly and professional, and made the stay that much more pleasant. The house was very clean when we checked in, and we were very comfortable our entire stay. The only thing I could even think of that could have been better would have been better kitchen accoutrements (pots, pans, dishes, etc were ) to accompany the gorgeous Viking kitchen, but this is a tiny nitpick - we were able to cook great meals here, and that was part of our goal, and part of what we wanted to do on our vacation (relax, cook, eat and go to the beach). Thanks so much for an amazing week - I'm already trying to figure out how we can come back again next year.

Beachside Villa - 4BR Home Ocean View

  • The home is beautiful and nicely situated, although it is not beachfront and the only view of the ocean is from a window in the master bath. It is actually a 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath as there are 3 baths upstairs and a half downstairs with an outdoor open shower that is not accessible from the outside only from the bathroom. Overall cleanliness was ok, but was probably not rented recently as there were quite a few dust bunnies floating around and found a cigarette butt on the floor in the t.v. room. The Jacuzzi did not work and they came to fix it the next day, worked while he was there and then when we tried to start it again later, it did not work again. In all fairness we were leaving the next day, so we did not bother to call him again as it was after 9 when we tried to use it. Other than those minor things it was a lovely place to stay.

  • BBB II met, and exceeded all of our expectations. It was clean, roomy and charming. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking pans and untensils (I am pretty picky about my cooking stuff). . It was a very nice touch to have the beach mats,chairs, body boards and cooler for our use at the beach. It was the perfect house for out family of 2 adults and 2 teens. The staff was very nice when I screwed up the safe, and came out the day after to unlock it. (Sorry I will blame it on the sun) I could not say what the best part of our trip was, because it was all pretty amazing. We will definately reccommend it to friends, and hopefully get to return.. .

Makana's Place

  • We recently stayed at Makana's place with our 14 year-old daughter and found the place to be more than adequate. Arrived late at night but instructions for entry were very clear. The common area included a kitchen, dining area, and living room and was very spacious. We had our breakfasts there before heading out to visit with family or going to the beach. It was very comfortable and we could have spent more time there if we did not know anyone in Oahu. Our only complaint was the soft mattress on the bed in the master bedroom. Also, our daughter would have preferred her own space for her bed which was in the common area. The town and beach of Kailua are the nicest on the island, in our view, with lots of options for kayaking, windsurfing and kiteboarding, and we would love to return again.

  • Hale Nalu was all that was advertised and more. If you want oceanfront, this is the rental for you! The views are spectacular. Loved sitting on the deck watching the whales and dolphins. Short trip to Brennecke's Beach put us right at turtle cove as well. Travelled the entire island in our week there, and we were convenient to everything. Loved eating out at Merriman's. The food and service were outstanding. I only had to contact customer service once - I was worried the hammock was broken, they assured me the lawn service takes it down when they come. . What a relief! Totally loved the property and would stay there again in a second. I'm afraid it has ruined me for anything other than oceanfront from here forward!!

Nakea Cottage - 2BR Cottage

  • We had a wonderful time, it was a belated honeymoon for my husband and I. The setting was perfect, the cottage was private, clean, comfortable and very well stocked with the necessities, such as beach towels, kitchenware and nice appliances. We loved it and the location. We want to thank you so much for finding the cottage for us, and the time you took to make sure we had what we wanted. I have now converted my husband to staying in vacation rentals rather than hotels or condos! We will definitely call you next time we come to Hawaii. Hopefully that will be soon:) One small note, not a big deal but would be nice for future guests if the can opener could be replaced. Other than that, everything worked well and we enjoyed our time there thoroughly.

  • We loved the condo! It was great to have access to the beach towels, snorkelling equipment, boogie boards and cooler that was there. (We didn't use the lawn chairs, but was nice to have the option). We packed lunch most days and were home to Barbque in the evenings. The air conditioning was nice, we used it at night so we could keep the windows closed as there was some traffic noise. So handy to have the laundry facilities. Really cuts down on what you need to pack! Staff at the front desk was very helpful and all the tenants are so friendly. The yards are kept beautifully. We didn't use the pool as the kids loved the ocean, but it was a well kept and very clean area. As were the tennis courts. It was nice to be able to walk across the lawn about 100 yards right to the beach- not the best beach for swimming as there are rocks in the water, but beautiful to walk along or watch the sun set.   • The unit was nice, but the owners should step it up a bit. It felt like the place was outfitted at a garage sale. Nothing matched, and everything was purchased as cheaply as possible. The new kitchen is fine but the all the utensils are dated, and not even non-stick. Spend a few hundred dollars to bring the pot, pans, flatware, dishes, etc into the 2010's. The 2 baths were fine, but the towels were clearly hand-me-downs from their primary residence and none of them matched. $100 at spent Macy's Home sale this weekend would help. Same thing with the bedding, When were those pillow cases made? 1970? We've stayed at Ekahi and Ekolu many times, and this unit showed the least pride of ownership we've seen. 48C is not on our list of places to return to.

  • The home was well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The area was quiet and set apart. Loved being on the beach -- calm waters, good snorkeling, great views of breaching whales. If one is looking for a remote location, this is it. No cell service and the land line at the house was unreliable. But the WIFI worked for searching online. If you'd rather stay closer to the "thick of things", like more of an urban or community setting, note that this was is well-off the beaten path; e.g., a trip for groceries was a 10-15 min drive. Nice amenities and great response from owner about what was available to us.

  • We spent 11 days in this rental with two teenage sons. The condo was spacious enough and comfortable. The location is great and we even spotted whales off the lanai. The rental had everything we needed supplied including beach chairs, towels and boogieboards. We cooked in most nights and the kitchen is well supplied. The only suggestions I would make is that the rental needs a little TLC. We had problems with the master toilet and the refrigerator. The rental company was quick to remedy both problems though. And it would be nice if the condo complex had a shared BBQ area. It was hard to walk down the path to the common BBQ in the rain. We would definitely stay again!

  • This unit was terrible! It was dirty. There were no trash bags, dish soap or laundry soap, toilet paper, etc. The cupboards were velcroed to stay shut. The cupboards were old & they stunk! The furniture was so discusting & it stunk! The guy downstairs was using the unit before we arrived & was comming in when we arrived to use the fax machine! Never will we stay here again! The washer broke the evening before we left!

Kahala Estate Cottage - 2BR Home

  • There were many positives about this rental property. It was clean and well kept. When we had a wi-fi problem the owner was quick to rectify it. The property was in a quiet, lovely, safe location. It was away from the hustle and bustle (and noise) of Waikiki, but just a short drive away from Waikiki and Kahala Mall (which has a Whole Foods that we like to shop at). The short walk to the beach was very pleasant and easy and it was an easy walk to the Kahala Resort for a dinner or drinks out. The kitchen was well supplied with enough cookware for us to make our Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. We had a wonderful time.

  • I spent many hours trying to pick the perfect place for a long overdue family vacation. I succeeded beyond my wildest expectations!! (No, I'm not really that conceited...it is just a compliment and tribute to this wonderful place in Kailua, on Ohahu's windward shore.). There are so many things to write about, but I will start with the people, because they are the ones who made this so perfect. Lori and Peter, the immediate property managers, were fantastic...every request was met with an immediate response (and there weren't many requests because virtually everything you could possibly want was already "in place" and waiting for us.) We were also lucky enough to meet Kia'aina who is the manager of a number of great properties. He, too, was wonderful to deal with, and the whole management team of Lori, Peter and Kia'aina are the kind of people who you consider to be really good friends, even though you just met them a few days ago. And then there was the house...WOW! Just look at the pictures on the website. These will give you a clue, but you won't really know how wonderful it is until you get there and actually see the place! The kitchen is truly "to die for" with all top line Viking appliances, and everything you need in the way of dishes, utensils, cook ware, dish towels, dishwasher soap, an outdoor propane grill, and even basic condiments (salt, pepper, spices, vinegar, oil, you name it) are provided for you. We did most of our meals in the kitchen and on the grill...7 of us, and we loved it. The rest of the house is equally wonderful. Master bedroom and bath are total luxury, and the bed sleeps like something out of your best ever dream! But wait...then there are the fabulous hot tub and swimming pool. All electronically controlled (you do it with a TV-style remote control) like nothing you--or I--have ever seen before! Oh, and just a few other things...the absolutely beautiful and lush landscaping surrounding the house (which also provides total privacy), and the fact that it is truly only 100 steps from the house to one of the most beautiful and perfect beaches in Hawai'i...think of it---in less than one minute, you've gone from the indoor corner of paradise to the outdoor corner!!   • Aloha The Unit was perfect, the location was excellent, the beach just seconds away from the house, pool, hot tub. The unit was large enough for four couples, big enough and spacious that we all had our own special space. The greeting with Lori and Pete, and the service taken care of with in an hour, was excellent. Beautiful people. The four couples didn't want to leave this area, and the villa. We wished that we would have booked for longer, but, we had a money budget. We just loved our time their. And the Catholic Church just at the end of the street, walking distance. And the welcome we recieved their was perfect. The best thing about my trip was everything. Lori suggested Buzz's restaurant, it was excellent, friendly staff, no reservation they accomadated us, with in 1/2 hr. We took many pictures of the villa, and the beach. Standing on the beach and looking at the scenery, foilage mountains was breath taking. I would rent this villa again anytime. I will share this part of the Island and villa with anyone who asks me. And I will tell my friends. We were told by Lori to go to the Polynesian Culture Center, and Dole Plantation. We were not disapointed. We just were getting use to going, and discovering different little hide aways. If God willing maybe, we will be able to cross paths again. I will send this also to the other couples.   • We absolutely loved the location of the bungalow. It's maybe 20 steps away from the beach and you can see the water from your kitchen and living room window. We had lovely breakfasts on the patio looking over the Pacific Ocean and dinners sitting outside. The rooms are nicely furnished, the kitchen is well equipped, we had plenty of towels, beach towels, etc. We even found sand toys, boogie boards by the backdoor. The place is quiet, the street is not busy at all, the nice beach is perfect for families with kids or couples who are looking for privacy. A nice shopping center is 4 minutes away by car where you can find restaurants, a Whole Foods-like grocery store (lots of organic food), and a sweet, little Farmers Market on Wednesday (from 4-6pm). I love Kauai and we always stayed in the Hyatt but renting the Baby Beach Bungalow made our 6th trip to the island even more special. By renting this lovely place we felt like locals. :) We were welcomed by the cleaning crew and they were very polite and did a great job cleaning out the house. They leave a vacuum cleaner in the closet that we used several times a week. (Some unwanted sand found its way in the house even after hosing off). Wailea Sunset Bungalow

  • We were staying for 7 days at the Wailea Sunstet Bungalow with our 10 year old doughter. We enjoyed and liked best the location, view, privacy, comfort, sunsets, snorkling, ..... The bungalow was very well equipped, we got familiar at once and enjoyed all the accessories we faced. Perfect BBQ, nice kitchen, outside shower, even chopsticks where there ;-) The close distance to some of the nicest beaches of Maui was a blast. Daily we went to Big Beach or just the next one for Body Surfing, Boogie Boarding or snorkling. There were always plenty turtles around. One evening we joined the Grand Luau at the Grand Wailea Hotel. This was excepitonal and we can recommend the Show, the food and the drinks. As we enjoyed staying at the Bungalow so much, we decided do skip excursions like the road to Hana or driving up to the Haleakala. We spent some days bevore on Big Island and saw plenty of Volcano and Rain Forest, so it was ok to skip the sights of Maui. The only place we went on the Island beside Kihei and Wailea / Makena was Lahaina, what we liked a lot. The only complain we have about the Sunset Bungalow and Maui is the long distance from our home country Germany. An exhausting trip to go - but worth it! Mahalo and Aloha

  • The unit was clean, comfortable, and reasonably well-equipped. We liked the high ceilings and two bedrooms of this 4-th floor unit. Out of all the Kamaole Sands buildings, building 8 is about as far as you can get from the beach, but it's still only a few minutes' walk. The main drawback is that the balcony on building 8 faces an access road for the neighboring development, and there was noisy traffic on it intermittently throughout the night & early morning. There was wired internet in the unit, but wifi would have been a lot more convenient. Check-in was smooth except it would have been nice to just get the keys from the front desk, rather than fumbling in the dark with a lock-box on the unit's door. The location was very good. We enjoyed Kamaole Beach III (directly across the road) every day. There was also good snorkeling a short drive south. Restaurants and groceries were close by too.

  • 1 - the house worked brilliantly for 2 families. Lived up to expectation (ie looked like photos) and was comfortable and well furnished. The view, pool, access to beach were all fantastic. 2 - customer service was all very good. 3 - the best part of our trip was probably hanging around the house and relaxing, but we also took the opportunity to do a number of activities and explore the whole island eg surfing, horseriding, tubing down sugar cane canals, snorkeling on Napali Coast, exploring the Canyon...We did a lot! 4 - We ate at a number of restaurants, mostly in Poipu - the biggest disappointment was the much celebrated Beach House. We really enjoyed Merrimans, Josselins Tapas Restaurant, Casa di Amici, JJs Broiller, Brennecke's Broiler, Hanapepe Cafe, and Hanalei Gourmet. We also really enjoyed shopping at The Living Market in Poipu and going to the wednesday afternoon gourmet market - we did it all! 5 - I went tubing and the beauty of the Coast and what a great temperature it was and how well the kids surfed... 6 - That 2 weeks in a house in a great spot like this, is the only true way to relax. 7 - Use the Kuaui Surf School at Poipu (there are lots) and go on the Liko boat for the coastal trip. Eat pie and carrot cake at the Hanapepe Cafe - divine! 8 - Some exploring of the canyon and other beaches by foot. We pretty much stayed around Poipu unless we were doing an activity.

The best picture was on Flat Island after we snorkeled to it. I can't wait to tell my friends how beautiful Hawaii is and how great it is to rent a house on the beach there. My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be is to rent it! The part of my trip I would definitely recommend to others is that you can relax but get up to see the beautiful sunrise on the ocean. I didn't have time this trip, but next trip I'm looking forward to kayaking to Mokulua Islands and hiking up Diamondhead. My only single suggestion for the unit would be to get a better coffee pot that includes a thermos and buy some bigger mugs but the rest of the dinnerware was beautiful. I would definitely rent there again!!!

  • The house was beautiful, well-designed, well-organized and perfect for relaxing. It's well decorated and appointed - and the distance to the beach truly is just 100 steps. Neighborhood is quiet - but close enough to shops, restaurants, and stores to enjoy activity when you wanted to. The beach is not crowded, fairly private and beautiful. The management company responded very quickly to the only issue we had - and this was a mechanical issue with the pool caused by the previous renters. The management company took care of it very quickly - within 24 hours. The house is fully stocked - especially the kitchen. We enjoyed our visit immensely and would highly recommend this rental! The only improvement I could recommend is having the owners add some additional beach towels to the linen closet. We ran out of beach towels every couple of days. Otherwise, perfect. Aloha!

  • Our family had a wonderful time at the Stone House. The house was great. It was so nice to have all the amenities. I would have liked a crock pot. But there were so many details. Felt like home. Everything was so so nice. When we first arrived and walked around to the front of the house it took my breath away. The view was to die for. At sunset we photo nuts would take shot after shot of the glorious sunset. We ended up having a photo contest but there were no bad pictures. It is beautiful there. This is truly a piece of heaven. The first moring was unbelievable with a rainbow. I have never seen both ends of a rainbow at once. God's was showing off. His glory was everywhere. We spotted sea turtles and I am pretty sure the spout of a whale. Missing the palm trees swaying and the changing skies and the sound of the sure. WE LOVED IT. What a honor to have stayed in such a unique and speical place. The house worked for us. We loved all being together and sharing the sun and the fun. We have a terriffic Christain family but don't all live close. We are blessed. This vacation was a gift. We enjoyed the kayaking, the catameran trip and Smith's Luau but most of all the wonderful location and feeling we were left with.   • - What I liked best was the quiet, relatively isolated location and basically on the beach. Also the house was super clean, well cared for, and really well equipped. It was great that we even had things like water shoes and snorkel equipment to use. - The customer services I received was excellent. Vacation Rentals was very communicative beforehand. And when I called Cliff about a power outtage during our stay, he was super responsive. - The best part of my trip was everything! It was all great. - The best restaurant I found was Bouchons in Hanalei. We liked the 2nd story open window view, and the sushi was good too. - The best picture I took of us was on the Kapau (?) trail from Ke'e Beach. - I can't wait to tell all my friends that I finally had a great snorkeling experience. - My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be to be aware of the one drawback of the cottage: Due to the bed setup, it really only accomodates 3 people. It would be ideal if both rooms had Queen beds, and maybe a single trundle in one of them. - The part of my trip I would definitely recommend to other is all of it! - The best "insider tip" I received while on my trip is that I would probably prefer the North Shore -- which is true. - I didn't have time on this trip, but next trip I'm looking forward to boating up the Na Pali Coast.

  • We had a delightful time. The customer service was excellent, especially when I was trying to find the cottage at night (pitch black, with no lights on)! The setting was very nice, except for the neighbors to the right - a little loud and not such a good view. We loved the fish market (Dolphin) in Hanalei, and enjoyed great meals at Bar Acuda and Mediterranean Grill. Also, the fish market in Kalieau was amazing. The Banana Fruit stand nearby on 56 had beautiful fruit. Also, the Farmer's Market on Tues in Hanalei was great. We also highly recommend Jack Harter helicopter rides (Hughes 500 with no doors). Ben was our pilot, and he was excellent. We will be back, and hope to kayak down the Waileua River next time.

  • The unit was large and clean. Victoria was excellent to deal with. The worst part was that the vaccuflow did not work, Milton came by and said he would bring us another vaccuum but he never got there so I was a bit embarrassed that the floor was so dirty and with a baby crawling around it would have been nice to have. My advice for anyone renting this unit with small children would be that the pool is not heated and it was too cold for a baby to be in. I would however recommend this unit highly for family get togethers as it is large and well stocked, it could however use more mixing bowls. This is the second house we have rented from you and we have always been happily surprised with the units. If it hadn't have been for the vaccuum issue I would have rated it four out of five stars. Maholo!

  • Upon arriving, I thought we may have had the wrong unit since it said we would have a peek a boo view of the ocean. Instead, the picture we saw on the website was from our neighboring unit and we couldn't see the ocean at all. When we started to explore the unit, we opened the closet and found a 6 in. centipede on the ground. After realizing it was dead, we calmed down and my dad threw it outside. (We knew they were dangerous, but the locals told us that it was unlikely to see one and that it was indeed not good it was in our unit) At night we went to open up the couch to lay down and once it was set up, my mom laid down (who has had numerous back surgeries) and fell right through the couch bed. After investigation, the entire one end of the bed was ripped and there was no possible way we could fix it. My mom is not a big lady either. We were willing to deal with these issues because it was Hawaii and vacation. We then realized we were almost out of toilet paper and I requested we get some more. They told me that only two rolls were included and we had to purchase the rest. This threw us over the edge as we had been more than accomadating with the unit so far. We actually had to complain about $5 worth of toilet paper to get it. We were not even provided with 2 full rolls upon arrival and felt that since we were paying hundreds of dollars per night that we were at least entitled to that. After all of this, we woke up to several cockroaches in our sink. We found out later that they had just sprayed high dosages of chemicals on all of the flowers to kill off the bugs around the unit (not just this unit, but the entire complex). This was disappointing to me as we were coming on vacation to get rid of our worries that were associated with my having cancer a few years before, so being surrounded by the things that made me sick in the first place was aggravating. I do want to say that the management company was quick to respond and did provide us with an air mattress in place of the couch, which was nice of them, but our overall experience left something to be desired. The grounds are beautiful, and the walk to the beach was not bad at all, but the unit itself was not stellar. Each unit is different though since they are privately owned, so many of the other units looked outstanding. Maybe because I designed resorts for a living I am a little picky, but I feel like we were duped.

  • This property proved to be more beautiful than what we anticipated or the photos can detail. The apponitments were excellent. Plenty of dishes, stemware, pots and pans. We prepared and ate most of our meals in the home. We used the gas grill for several of our meals. Costco, Safeway and Wal-Mart are all just a short drive away. The home is also very close to downtown Kailua-Kona. The property manager and owners were very promt in addressing our questions about the property and solicited our input on any improvements that we had to offer that would make other users more comfortable. The property manager was so nice that the whole family now considers her a part of us. I took several pictures of the property to brag to our friends about our Christams vacation in beautiful Hawaii. We even went to the Christmas eve Island Breeze luau at the King Kamehameha Hotel. We also snorkeled at the Captain Cook monument with the Fairwind II charter. Saw green sea turtles at several of the beaches too. I have been to the Hawaiian Islands numerous times, but this Christmas trip was the best of all thanks to the beauty of the Hibiscus Hale, the friendly staff and having our immediate family together while the grandchildren are still young enough to appreciate it. We had our last meal before departing at the Knoa Inn in downtown. The selection of locally caught fish was excellent. It is out dream to revisit this home again. We would recommend it to anyone. My wife has already made a recommendation to a couple we met at the beach who had a large family gathering and was doing it by renting multiple rooms at an area hotel. They were paying more for the individual rooms than what the home is available for.

  • Aloha, Overall accommodations were great and just as described in pre-trip literature. Neighborhood is were maintained and very quiet. House, pool and grounds are aged, but very comfortable and well cared for. Very close to shopping and beaches, however Kona beaches are sparce and crowded. Much of the shoreline is rocky and unsuitable for beach goers. A short drive South to Spencer's Park is well woth the trip and rewards you with white sand beaches and shallow waters for kids to swim and play in. Hot tub did not work at all and the kitchen range oven stopped working two nights prior to our departure. Neither could be repaired prior to departure and the oven created a problem cooking our meals. Safeway Super Market located next door to Wal Mart offers free discount cards that will save you about 25% on grocery purchases. Just ask for a card the Customer Service Counter. We had a party of nine (six adults & three children) at the house for two full weeks and had plenty of room for all and more than enough sleeping accommodations. Aloha !!

  • The view from PKK 118 is spectacular! It was wonderful to start each day with a cup of coffee and fresh pineapple on the lanai while looking out at Hanalei Bay and Na Pali coast and to end each day with a cocktail on the lanai while we watched the sunset. Hideaway Beach, an easy walk down the bluff from the unit, is a good snorkeling spot. The condo is comfortable, nicely furnished, and was well stocked with towels and other essentials (the only odd thing is that the water from the water dispenser on the front of the refrigerator tasted moldy, so we didn't use it). We spent every day exploring new places to snorkel and swim. Great spots for snorkeling include Ke'e Beach, Tunnels, and 'Anini Beach. We saw several turtles, eels, an octopus, in addition to a huge variety of fish. Great swimming spots include Kalihiwa Bay, Ha'ena Beach Park, and Kahalahala Beach. This was our first time staying on the north end of Kauai, so we decided to focus on the north end and not spend too much time driving all over the island. We have stayed in Kapaa twice before, so didn't feel the need to go to that area on this trip. The north end of the island in the summer can't be beat!

Some great snorkeling there that we didn't know about last year. I will be requesting this unit again for next year! We had six family members and everyone had very nice accomodations. We loved Scotty's in Kapaa - great barbeque. The Bull Shed in Lihue was also excellent. Very disappointed in the Hanalei Dolphin this year - food horrible. We had a great time on our Kayak Kauai trip to the Secret Falls, we tubed the sugar plantation with Kauai Backcountry adventures (great guides) and did an ATV backcountry tour Kipu Ranch adventures (would not spend the money on the ATV tour - not worth it.)   • It is a beautiful location and house. Unfortunately, it is becoming worn in the beds, sheets, towels, barbecue and some furniture. For the price, it should all be first rate. We will not be returning there next year.

Stonehouse - 3BR Home Poipu

  • the location was the most beautiful spot we have ever stayed at the customer service could have been better, someone came and took family pictures off the wall while we were up in the high ground during the tsunami warning, we had to call the rental agent to find out what happened to them, they should have told us, we try to take good care of the places we rent. Also any relative should not be able to just walk into a house which is being rented for $5000 a week, we should be insured of some privacy. the best part of our trip was being where we were with our loved ones the best restaurant was the Beach House the best picture was the family on the lawn of the house we tell our friends that Kauai is beautiful but is getting too full of big condo units & less trees As we have been to the Hawaiian islands 12 times we know what expect, however the constant destruction and construction on the house next door was an unpleasant part of our stay. The Stone House is a beautiful place but needs some loving care, several unstairs windows need repair, the downstairs bedroom windows were stuck open, we fixed them as there would be easy access to the house thru them, most blinds were not working, we fixed two of them, toaster oven not fully working, bed covers & shams need washing, dining room chair broken, we still would like to come back, would buy the house if ever for sale but hope to come back in 2012 for my husbands 75th birthday. We have seen that house every time we have been in Kauai, it will always be the most wonderful location to me our stay was almost perfect, the construction was no ones fault, but the things that need attention in the house should be addressed. I know whoever took the pictures off the wall was only saving the family heritage, but some consideration could have been shown to us, we were enjoying the family history (book & photos) and the blank wall (full of nail holes) was a shock when we returned from high ground and remained that way for the rest of our stay. The lawns, trees and construction of the Stone House are wonderful and beautiful.

Hale Lanui - 4BR Home + Private Pool + Private Hot Tub

  • What I liked best was the view, location, and we had absolutly everything we needed. Customer services was great. My favorite part was morning coffee on the upper deck, watching all the activity on the water and in the park. We ate in every night because we had a great view. I didn't take a lot of pictures but I have one of the view from the upper deck on my phone that we'll be there for awhile. The unit was perfect, very well equipped. The area can smell a little funny at times sort of a combination of sewer and sea water but it is mostly up the alley near the playing fields. My favorite thing was to try different beaches. Signing up for a discount at the super markets, there is quite a savings if you take the time to fill out a simple form. Next time I would like to visit a different island.

Wailea Sunset Bungalow

  • What an adorable beach house with the most perfect view of the ocean! Just like the larger Estate house we had rented next door, this home was beautifully decorated and well equipped. I would love to come back just to sleep in the king sized bed that the kids described at a feeling like a great big pillow. Mahalo.

Wailea Sunset Estate

  • You could not ask for a better location than this! The home is beautifully decorated and well equipped and the views truly spectacular. We loved that we could walk to the beaches in just minutes and the huge grass lawn was a hit with the kids who still needed to burn off energy after swimming all day in the pool. The rental agency made our trip a breeze to book and the introduction to the house easy. All the staff that entered the home to either clean or work on the grounds were extremely friendly and professional. Thanks for taking care of us! There are so many restaurants to choose from in the Wailea area: Nick's Fishmarket next door at the Fairmont is amazing and so was Spago at the Four Seasons. Matteo's Pizzeria was a delicious meal in a family friendly environment - you must try their cheesecake with mango sauce. Mahalo to the owner of this home who allows families like ours the opportunity to spend a bit of time in heaven.

Hale Maluhia at Lanikai Beach

  • This is an amazing home, without a doubt the best one I have ever rented. Simply but elegantly decorated, and full of all the amenities you could ask for. It is obvious that the home is well-cared for by all the details. The back of the house area is absolutely spectacular, fit for entertaining or even better, just some lovely quiet time. The location across from the beach is perfect, barely a two minute walk. I would highly recommend Hale Maluhia, and look forward to returning someday.
