About WaipouliThe storybook image of the Royal Coconut Coast, named for the numerous coconut palms on east Kauai, beckons visitors to the Waipouli Beach Resort. The location is perfectly accessible to shops, restaurants, and sights, while keeping the congestion of tourist crowds at bay. The area around our Waipouli luxury condos is scenic and has served as a location for many films over the years, notably Jurassic Park, Blue Hawaii, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and more.
Things to Do
Our Waipouli vacation rentals supply visitors with plenty to do in Kapaa and nearby Wailua. Kapaa Beach Park offer opportunities for kitesurfing, swimming, and snorkeling. It is also picturesque for seeing sunrises and sunsets. Waipouli Beach is popular for walking or running with its paved trail. The northern end sections, known as Baby Beach or Fuji Beach, are perfect for families as the tide is low so the swimming is safer. Kealia Beach is great for surfing and boogie boarding.
Hikers, cyclists, and paddlers will all find scenic paths to explore in the area. Nounou Mountain, also referred to as Sleeping Giant, takes visitors through the forest, leading to a picnic area, with views of the Wailua River and Mount Waialeale. The Wailua Municipal Golf Course is a public course open to visitors.
Route 56 takes travelers to many sights in east Kauai, including Opaekaa Falls and Wailua Falls. Wailua Falls is popular for its captivating images in the television show, Fantasy Island. Warriors would jump the 80-foot falls to demonstrate their bravery. Hawaii's only navigable river is Wailua River, so an adventure by kayak or boat is worth the trip to see the Fern Grotto, lava rock embraced by tropical ferns.
