This is the second time we have stayed at these condos. We have been very happy with both stays. The only thing we needed was some chairs or chaises to take to the beach. There also seemed to be an ant problem on the kitchen counter. That would be the only negatives. Well satisfied. Hope to be back.
The location of this condo is excellent. The ocean is only feet from the back sliding door and just a few steps away is a private beach that very few people use. The units are very quiet and well maintained. The grounds are clean and the area feels very safe for the entire family. There is a great road to run along in the morning that follows the water and shops and restuarants are close by. If you like watching the whales go by and the turtles swim this is the place for you! We had a mix up with the safe and the rental company handled it immediately. Honestly, my only complaint would be that the unit needs a new blender. If you stay in this condo you will not be dissappointed!

What could be improved on as for the lodging is better shower and front door locks. It was difficult to get in.
The view from the balcony on this unit is awesome. We could watch the whales in the distance and also see a few sea turtles.
My big concern was that the pool was not heated until the last two days of our stay. Danny, resident manager, did explain that there was a problem getting propane from Oahu and some things like pools and torches had to be shut down; (I did understand this) the concern is that I had specifically asked for a heated pool and my agent, Mary Kress from Vacation Rentals, knew this and found me the Holani resort. As the heat to the pool had been turned off the week before our arrival, I feel that Mary should have known about this and advised us prior to our arrival. I did leave two phone messages for her and did not receive any calls back. My email message was returned by another person who explained the same info that I had already found out from the Residen Manager.
Customer service from the VRBO agents was not good at all. As an agent, they should be aware of these 'small' problems and try to avert them. We are paying good money to stay at these resorts. I would not have minded having my reservation changed to another location on Maui with a heated pool. I do know that some resorts still had heated pools during the time we were there.
The bottom line is that I am not satisfied with the service received from this particular VRBO agent and will not be booking through them in the future.

Kahana Nui Villa was awesome. The view, all the furnishings you could ever need, customer service from our agent/property manager ... our family experienced a dream vacation. The whales were jumping, rainbows ... we were in heaven! We actually had to make ourselves leave the property as it was such a wonderful retreat... with beach, pool, hot tub and restful and relaxing balconies and alcoves for all. Close to Lahaina, parks, entertainment, golf, ... we enjoyed eating at I'O's and Mala's. The Sheraton luau was great with cliff divers and shopping at Whaler's Village great! We greatly appreciated the baby rental furniture company for all our needs for the grandchildren. Our family continues to speak about our wonderful chef prepared dinner prepared by Mark Shimer of Cater2U (thanks to Kitty and Carlos too)... it was awesome! Seven in our group will not forget their bike ride down Haleakala... their company took them all the way to sea level/beach! Plan to eat all your meals on the deck overlooking the wonderful secluded ocean front property... we are already planning our return trip!
Very nice accommodation with a fantastic view of the sea and Molokai island. Sunsets from the balcony were spectacular and you can see whales breaching just a short distance offshore. Relaxing and friendly.
