Things To Do
Just up the hill from Waimea town is the spectacular Waimea Canyon with spectacular views and an abundance of hiking trails into the canyon as well as along the coastal cliffs with stunning vistas of the Na Pali Coast and the blue Pacific beyond.
Hofgaard Park serves as Waimea's town square and is the site of the Captain James Cook Monument which memorializes Waimea as the place the explorer first came onto land establishing for the first time Western contact with the Hawaiian Islands.
The Waimea Historic Walking Tour begins at the West Kauai Technology and Visitor's Center (which features a museum) and then explores the town's history including stores and churches.
Eat and Shop
Waimea town offers a variety of shops and places to eat as well as a grocery store.
