About Makawao Villas
Our Makawao luxury rentals offer the best in luxury and relaxation on the Valley Isle of Maui. Considered the heart of Maui's scenic Upcountry region, Makawao has an old West feel and a rich paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) heritage.

Things To Do
Like much of the Upcountry region, Makawao is an agricultural and ranching community that enjoys comfortable temperatures about five degrees cooler than Maui towns at sea level.

From Makawao you can explore all of the small towns and flower gardens of the scenic Upcountry region on the way to the peak of Haleakala volcano where you can hike into the summit crater and through forested areas to see native birds.

Beach lovers can head from Makawao down to Hookipa Beach Park to see some of the world's best kitesurfers and windsurfers, or take a swim and relax on the white sands of Baldwin Beach Park. Makawao is also close to the road to "Heavenly Hana" which is one of Hawaii's most scenic drives with many stops along the way to see waterfalls and sweeping coastal vistas.

Eat and Shop
Makawao has a variety of shopping shopping and dining opportunities from boutique shopping to craft stores and art galleries as well as stores for the locals including a barber shop and grocery store. Check out the T. Komoda Store and it's popular bakery which has been serving Makawao residents since it opened as a plantation store in 1916.

There is also a nice gift shop at the Hui Noeau Visual Arts center which features galleries and exhibits that are part of Makawao's thriving arts community. For more great dining and shopping take a drive up through the Upcountry region and visit the small towns each with its own unique charm.

Getting Around
A rental car is recommended when staying in Makawao luxury rentals giving you access to the beautiful Upcountry region and Haleakala National Park as well as great beaches along Maui's northern coast
