The house was wonderful in all aspects. Beautifully maintained and well stocked. The location was perfect. And the onsite caretaker was great. Only problem is that VRA gave me instructions for a lockbox when there was none, and did not confirm our arrival details with the caretaker (we arrived quite late).

The property was spacious and clean. The pictures accurately portray the house, the only failure of the pictures were that they didn't portray how big and spacious the house actually was. The size of it was a pleasant surprise. The level of service we received from the booking agent was fine, we would book the rental again and would recommend it to a friend. The property manager was magnificent and beyond helpful.

The customer service was excellent - friendly and available, the place was clean, and ready for our arrival. Overall, it was a great rental. The house itself was spacious and served us well, but a bit dated. The front lanai was a great place to gather, with plenty of sitting and dining room. The kitchen and living room were great. We were so close to the beach!! The carpet in the bedrooms is old - tile would be better. It was advertised as having 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, but one of the bathrooms was in the laundry room with no sink. It worked out okay for us. It was a great time for all of our family to be together in beautiful Hawaii.
We absolutely loved our stay. The caretaker was friendly and very helpful. She was the best. It is especially great for large group. We loved that the house was spacious enough for all eleven of us to have room and not feel like we were crowded at all. Access to the beach was a major plus. I would definitely recommend this house.

May26-June2, 2013 Our family of 10 loved the home and location. We spent mornings and evenings out in the courtyard. Quick access to the wonderful beach for walks and water play. Booking with Renee and onsight management from Robyn made the trip easy.

Overall, our entire family of ten was comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The property manager was wonderful and tried her absolute best to make our stay a good one. There were some things that could be better, but the location is fantastic, and the house is very nice. The wifi was not nearly as fantastic...we could only get a connection at the dining table, or outside in the courtyard, which was annoying in this age of connectivity. There was not enough bathroom tissue or paper towels to accommodate the number of people staying at the house, so we had to purchase replacement supplies...I felt that for the price paid for the rental, sufficient quantities of these basic necessities could have been provided. There were some burned out light bulbs, and bad flourescent starters, all bedroom carpeting had numerous stains, and the upstairs master bedroom fan did not run in fast speed. In cloudy weather, we had minimal to no hot water. Manager tried her best to fix this....she is terrific. Overall....this is a nice place to stay....with terrific views from the upstairs master!

Comment by Owner/Manager:
We strive to keep everything in excellent condition and welcome guest feedback for improvements. The cleaners say there were 4-6 rolls of toilet paper in each of the 4 bathrooms and 2 rolls of paper towels, but I asked them to increase the supply anyway. All light bulbs have all been checked and replaced. Carpets have been scheduled for cleaning %u2013 they are regularly cleaned every few months or as needed. We are looking into ways of improving the wifi signal throughout the house it is a large house to cover. The solar water heater technician has checked the hot water. Unfortunately it will always take a while to get hot water upstairs, as it is the further from the hot water heater.
Lots of space; great beach access; awesome hot tub--what is there not to like?

The closeness of the beach, the size of the house and the great outdoor room were advantages for our group. Great kitchen and plenty of dishes etc. Service by all involved was good. We were most satisfied with the rental. Only bad part is being next door to someone with 6 dogs- lots of barking but fortunately not during the night. Yes, we would rent it again and recommend it to others.

The best part of the Pikake Hale was the master bedroom on the second floor. The room was all windows with a large rooftop lanai. Every morning we woke up to the sunrise peeking in above the ocean. The constant sound of the waves and the breeze through the room was paradise. The caretaker, Eddie, was great! He helped us out with anything we needed. I would reccomend this rental to anyone and would love to come back. Perefect home away from home!

There were 8 adults and 3 children (8-10) on our trip. The house , Pikake Hale, was just perfect for us. We loved the quiet beaches at Kailua and we were about 30-40 mintues away from the places that we wanted to visit. We had a wonderful Hawaiian Adventure!
James W., McKinney, Texas3.21.10
We loved the beautiful beach in Kailua and the comfortable and spacious home. It was wonderful to go for daily walks/runs on the soft smooth sand. We splurged on Alan Wong's restaurant in Honolulu as a treat for the adults, and the kids loved boogie boarding, the Atlantis submarine ride, and Sea Life Park.
Kate L., ANchorage, AK2.2.10
Loved the location, loved the beach access, Dave and Lori were wonderful, we'd come back again. Thanks.
Sheri H., Ripon, CA1.27.10
We loved our stay at Pikake Hale! The house was perfect for an extended family of 10 people, ages ranging from 2 to 91. Our favorite thing was the proximity to Kailua beach--just a short walk down a beach path and we were there. We also enjoyed preparing and sharing meals together. The kitchen is well equipped and big enough to accommodate a number of people.
Marnie F., Port Townsend, WA1.11.10
The unit we rented was huge and huge enough to have our group of 10 not feel crowed. The house was great. Clean and well organized. Loved the location and the beach was amazing because it was clean and not overcrowed. Would certainly consider this house again although need to be more aware of the weather patterns as this side of the island sees more rain than the other and of course we got rain, 4 out of six days there. Much easier to find with a GPS as the streets in this area are not well marked and it was a little hard to find.
Roy H., Chilliwack, B.C.Canada5.6.09
The proximity to the beach was fantastic, and the owners were wonderful. They had an entire notebook of pamphlets, maps, instructions waiting for our arrival, not to mention a fruit basket! There are so many things to do, that there is simply not enough time. That just makes one want to go back, and if I do, I will be staying at the Pikake Hale. Not only was the house perfectly sized, with enough room for 10 people to have plenty of space, but both the owners and my Hawaiin Beach Rental contact (Grace Roberts) worked to ensure that we had a great time.
Jack M., Elizabethtown, PA3.17.09
The rental unit was clean, well supplied and we had enough space for everybody! The customer service was very good as questions were answered as soon as possible. The best part of the trip was the wedding, the sun, the beach and of course HAWAII!! Over all it was great and would LOVE to come back again and this time at MAUI maybe.
Gemma C., Calgary, Alberta2.23.09
Our stay at Pikake Hale was fantastic. There were 10 of us and plenty of room for everyone. The sunsets were fantastic, didn't miss one all week. Downtown Kailua is great place for dining and shopping. Buzz's, Lucy's and Pinky's were great places to get Hawaiian flavors and delicious fresh fish. Lori and Dave were wonderful hosts and there was nothing we were missing at the house. Everything we needed was available. We would recommend Pikake Hale as the perfect vacation home...looking forward to more time in paradise! Thank you, Sharin Geister, Lincoln, CA

Dave and Lori were wonderful. The house was perfect for our family. We renewed our wedding vows on our 40th anniversary on Sunset Beach at Sunset and the day was more than we could have hoped for. We dined at Ola which was the most perfect restaurant.....open to the beach with food that is out of this world. Having the whole family together for this week was a first and hopefully it won't be the last. We were all very sad to leave but we will definately be back. I would recommend Dave and Lori's house to anyone. We lacked nothing while we stayed there and it made the perfect gathering place when we were all together. Thank you so much for one of the most memorable weeks of our lives.
Barbara V., North Ridgeville, OH10.28.07
What a wonderful house! The house was spacious and easily accomodated our multi-generational group. We enjoyed taking breakfast each monring in the beautiful, tropical courtyard. Having the house only a short walk from the beach, we could not resist getting up each morning and see the sunrise. We appreciated the owners, Dave and Lori, providing beach towels, boogie boards and beach toys. We would definately recommend this house to others. The Holts from College Station, Texas

-the house was big enough for all three families, yet intimate enough for us all to feel like a family. -buzz's steakhouse and pinky's pupu platters. -at lanikai, of course. -stay in the windward side, not waikiki -park at the honolulu zoo for 25cents per hour for up to 4 hrs, close enough to kalakua ave for everything you need. -going to kaneohe bay
Anyway, it was a wonderful house Pikake Hale 10. We have spended a very very very wonderful time. The orner is very very kind. We wish to express our gratitude for the orner and Vacation Rental Agent. Because the time of the airplane, we have gone out the house early morning. I'm sorry that it is not possible to meet to the orner. Please give my best regards to him. I would like to go again at the next year. Thank you very much Dave, Sheila and Ashley.

Our family group ranged in age from 73 to 3, and there was something there for eveyone. It was the perfect spot, close to the beach, spacious, and with all the condiments and beach toys provided. The surf was perfect for amateurs, and even the three year old could enjoy riding the boogie boards. The spacious lanai was our favorite hangout, with its comfortable furniture, hot tub and its own refrigerator and gas grille. The ceiling fans kept the breezes flowing through the rooms, making them very comfortable. The owners, Dave and Lori, were very helpful in recommending places to see and eat, and how to get to other places of interest. We thought the place was perfect, and will stay here again the next time we come to Hawaii. We highly recommend Pikake Hale 10!!

William W., Palm Desert, CA11.27.06
The unit was great. We had nine people and one night ten. There was sufficient space so that we weren't on top of each other. The kitchen is great to work in. Comfortable beds.

We loved the house. It was very comfortable for everyone. We really appreciated all the little extras (beach gear, laundry detergent, shampoo, etc.) The location was great too. Very easy access to the beach. We would stay there again.
Clare K., Bend, OR3.21.06
The hosts are marvelous and the house extremely spacious yet homey and comfortable. They have everything you need there too -- so a lot less packing for their guests! We highly recommend this rental.

Our vacation at Pikake Hale in Kailua couldn't have been more wonderful. The home is well laid out, perfectly equipped, immaculate, tastefully decorated and wonderfully located. Kailua beach is beautiful - as in Laniki, which is only minutes away. There is so much to do in Kailua, and Pikake Hale is so pleasant and relaxing, it's hard to venture to other areas of the island. We look forward to staying at Pikake Hale again!
Katherine U., Los Banos, CA2.21.06

Kailua is a wonderful town and setting. The beach which is just a few yards away is alos fantastic. The owners have set it up perfectly. Will come back again.

My family and I rented Pikake Hale 10 to help celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were extremely pleased with the accomodations, the lovely home, and the beautiful beach. The home was a great place to relax after a day of sight-seeing, or to simply spend the whole day playing and relaxing on the beach. Our only regret was that the week went by so quickly.
