The Dole Plantation makes a great stop over when crossing the island on your Oahu adventures. The mixture of pineapple plantation era memorabilia, a Pineapple Train ride, gift shop, ornate gardens, caf and the world's largest living maze creates loads of entertainment for visitors of all ages and abilities. Pineapple cultivation is woven in through the history of modern day Hawaii. The exotic fruit grows well in our tropical climate, and many of the islands' of Hawaii have grown bumper crops of pineapple to supply the United States market. Dole Plantation is a remnant of those days gone by when pineapple was a major part of the agricultural economy in Hawaii.

By utilizing the draw of their signature brand name Dole has created a tourist attraction like no other in Hawaii. It is a bit like a miniature pineapple amusement park, with options for every activity level in your group. Take a chance at navigating the world's largest living maze, as featured in the "Guiness Book of World Records", the 3-acre maze has walls made of 14,000 tropical plants that tower overhead. The maze can take anywhere from 25 to 60 minutes to complete, and can make for a fun family activity.

Ornate gardens surround the main gift shop building at the heart of the park, with many photogenic examples of exotic pineapple varieties, and other tropical flowering plants. A large outdoor patio has seating to take a break and try some pineapple ice cream or food from their on-site caf.

Every half hour through out the day, the Pineapple Express Train Tour takes visitors on a 2-mile loop through an expanded portion of the pineapple plantation. With open-air seating in the train coaches, you can smell the sweet pineapple fruits ripening around you in the fields. Several food demonstrations occur through out the day, staged around the gift shop area. The free demos are a great way to better understand the pineapple and its cultivation.

From Waikiki/Honolulu:

• Drive on H-1 West then transfer onto H-2 North(exit 8A)
• Follow H-2 to exit 8 to Wahiawa. Continue on the Kamehameha Highway HI-route 99. Look for Dole Plantation on the right

From North Shore:

• Take Hi-route 99 the Kamehameha Highway past Haliewa heading to Wahiawa, look for Dole Plantation signs on left.
