Pali Ke Kua - 1BR Condo Ocean View #118

  • The view from PKK 118 is spectacular! It was wonderful to start each day with a cup of coffee and fresh pineapple on the lanai while looking out at Hanalei Bay and Na Pali coast and to end each day with a cocktail on the lanai while we watched the sunset. Hideaway Beach, an easy walk down the bluff from the unit, is a good snorkeling spot. The condo is comfortable, nicely furnished, and was well stocked with towels and other essentials (the only odd thing is that the water from the water dispenser on the front of the refrigerator tasted moldy, so we didn't use it). We spent every day exploring new places to snorkel and swim. Great spots for snorkeling include Ke'e Beach, Tunnels, and 'Anini Beach. We saw several turtles, eels, an octopus, in addition to a huge variety of fish. Great swimming spots include Kalihiwa Bay, Ha'ena Beach Park, and Kahalahala Beach. This was our first time staying on the north end of Kauai, so we decided to focus on the north end and not spend too much time driving all over the island. We have stayed in Kapaa twice before, so didn't feel the need to go to that area on this trip. The north end of the island in the summer can't be beat!

Maui Sunset - 2BR Condo Ocean View #121B

  • The location is great. Would definitely stay here again. The unit is spacious and being on the ground floor is a plus. It is very easy to get around from this location. There were two negatives: one was that when I rented the unit I was told that there was free wireless connection for the internet. This was not the case but you can rent a modem for $40/wk or $10/day. This worked fine. The other is that there was not laundry soap. The management wants you to run a load of towels before you leave so laundry soap would have been nice.

Nihilani - 3BR Condo Garden View #22C

  • This is the second year I have booked a condo with this company. What an amazing place to stay for our second trip to Kauai! We loved every aspect of this condo. The beds were amazing, the unit was equipped with fun beach accessories, their was every kind of cooking utensil available. The complex was quiet and very accessible to the Hideaways beach. Some great snorkeling there that we didn't know about last year. I will be requesting this unit again for next year! We had six family members and everyone had very nice accomodations. We loved Scotty's in Kapaa - great barbeque. The Bull Shed in Lihue was also excellent. Very disappointed in the Hanalei Dolphin this year - food horrible. We had a great time on our Kayak Kauai trip to the Secret Falls, we tubed the sugar plantation with Kauai Backcountry adventures (great guides) and did an ATV backcountry tour Kipu Ranch adventures (would not spend the money on the ATV tour - not worth it.) Thanks again for a lovely vacation - I did not want to come home!!

Garden Bungalow Waimea Bay - 3BR Home

  • I loved the sound of the ocean at night and the cool breezes, as well as the beautiful, fragrant flowers in the garden and yard. The best treat was the acai bowl at the Coffee Gallery in Haleiwa--local honey, homemade granola, acai frozen yogurt and fresh mango and papaya--worth getting up early for! We had a great trip.

Hale Ohana - 5BR Home Poipu

  • It is a beautiful location and house. Unfortunately, it is becoming worn in the beds, sheets, towels, barbecue and some furniture. For the price, it should all be first rate. We will not be returning there next year.

Stonehouse - 3BR Home Poipu

  • the location was the most beautiful spot we have ever stayed at the customer service could have been better, someone came and took family pictures off the wall while we were up in the high ground during the tsunami warning, we had to call the rental agent to find out what happened to them, they should have told us, we try to take good care of the places we rent. Also any relative should not be able to just walk into a house which is being rented for $5000 a week, we should be insured of some privacy. the best part of our trip was being where we were with our loved ones the best restaurant was the Beach House the best picture was the family on the lawn of the house we tell our friends that Kauai is beautiful but is getting too full of big condo units & less trees As we have been to the Hawaiian islands 12 times we know what expect, however the constant destruction and construction on the house next door was an unpleasant part of our stay. The Stone House is a beautiful place but needs some loving care, several unstairs windows need repair, the downstairs bedroom windows were stuck open, we fixed them as there would be easy access to the house thru them, most blinds were not working, we fixed two of them, toaster oven not fully working, bed covers & shams need washing, dining room chair broken, we still would like to come back, would buy the house if ever for sale but hope to come back in 2012 for my husbands 75th birthday. We have seen that house every time we have been in Kauai, it will always be the most wonderful location to me our stay was almost perfect, the construction was no ones fault, but the things that need attention in the house should be addressed. I know whoever took the pictures off the wall was only saving the family heritage, but some consideration could have been shown to us, we were enjoying the family history (book & photos) and the blank wall (full of nail holes) was a shock when we returned from high ground and remained that way for the rest of our stay. The lawns, trees and construction of the Stone House are wonderful and beautiful.

Hale Lanui - 4BR Home + Private Pool + Private Hot Tub

  • What I liked best was the view, location, and we had absolutly everything we needed. Customer services was great. My favorite part was morning coffee on the upper deck, watching all the activity on the water and in the park. We ate in every night because we had a great view. I didn't take a lot of pictures but I have one of the view from the upper deck on my phone that we'll be there for awhile. The unit was perfect, very well equipped. The area can smell a little funny at times sort of a combination of sewer and sea water but it is mostly up the alley near the playing fields. My favorite thing was to try different beaches. Signing up for a discount at the super markets, there is quite a savings if you take the time to fill out a simple form. Next time I would like to visit a different island.

Wailea Sunset Bungalow

  • What an adorable beach house with the most perfect view of the ocean! Just like the larger Estate house we had rented next door, this home was beautifully decorated and well equipped. I would love to come back just to sleep in the king sized bed that the kids described at a feeling like a great big pillow. Mahalo.

Wailea Sunset Estate

  • You could not ask for a better location than this! The home is beautifully decorated and well equipped and the views truly spectacular. We loved that we could walk to the beaches in just minutes and the huge grass lawn was a hit with the kids who still needed to burn off energy after swimming all day in the pool. The rental agency made our trip a breeze to book and the introduction to the house easy. All the staff that entered the home to either clean or work on the grounds were extremely friendly and professional. Thanks for taking care of us! There are so many restaurants to choose from in the Wailea area: Nick's Fishmarket next door at the Fairmont is amazing and so was Spago at the Four Seasons. Matteo's Pizzeria was a delicious meal in a family friendly environment - you must try their cheesecake with mango sauce. Mahalo to the owner of this home who allows families like ours the opportunity to spend a bit of time in heaven.

Hale Maluhia at Lanikai Beach

  • This is an amazing home, without a doubt the best one I have ever rented. Simply but elegantly decorated, and full of all the amenities you could ask for. It is obvious that the home is well-cared for by all the details. The back of the house area is absolutely spectacular, fit for entertaining or even better, just some lovely quiet time. The location across from the beach is perfect, barely a two minute walk. I would highly recommend Hale Maluhia, and look forward to returning someday.

Waipouli Beach Resort - 1BR Condo Penthouse Partial Ocean View #E406

  • Our particular unit was beautiful, the ocean view gorgeous, the staff accommodating when needed and most importantly, the resort was so close to immediate needs.......... grocery market, drug store, small cafes, shoppes and banks. The restaurant reopened while we were there--and is sure to be a hit. The resort is located such that with a 30-minute drive in either direction, visitors have a completely different tourist experience. Only concern--prepare for the 10 a.m. checkout--it is a bit early. All our guests said our condo was the best--the most beautifully appointed-- and on the fourth floor, the best located!!

Nakea Home - Permit #TVNC-1245

  • The location, right at the end of Anini Road, was perfect.....quiet, except for the roosters and the surf, but not totally isolated. A beautiful deck for reading, eating, observing the ocean. This house was well maintained and well equipped. We did not eat in restaurants. One of the joys was finding our own food and preparing it. Tangerines and grapefruits are right there on trees in the garden. We did not try to catch the chickens but bought ahi and chicken from local stores. The farmers' market on Thursday afternoon at Wailea yielded beans, tomatoes, avocados, carrots, and a variety of salad greens. I certainly plan to recommend this unit (and others in this location) to my family and friends. There was no service for our cellphones, but the wireless internet worked perfectly and kept us linked to the world when we wanted to be.

Hale Moana - 2BR Home Poipu

  • The area was beautiful as always, the house was very nice, excellant location. I would recomend that you put a new gas grill at the house and also adjust the hot water in the master bedroom shower. The service was excellent and the cleaning people did an excellant job cleaning the unit before we checked in. The best restaurant I found was Tidepools at the Hyatt. The sunshine helicopter tour was excellent as was the whale watching. The best insider tip I received was the fish market in old town. I plan on comming back next year for a month in either January or February

Hale Ma'ana Hou - 5BR Oceanfront Home with Private Pool - Poipu

  • The house was wonderful! All eight of us enjoyed the stay, especially breakfasting on the balcony. One morning two sea turtles were frolicing right below us. Sons-in-law and older grandchildren enjoyed a day up the canyon, zip lines, kayaking, etc. I especially enjoyed the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, an easy walk from the house. Best restaurant = Casablanca. Best carry-out = Poipu Grill, another easy walk from the house. Next time I'll try the garlic shrimp from the truck that parks at one end of Hoona Lane.

  • Everything was great. Eve was very responsive. The home was a little dated but well appointed and perfect for our family reunion. Nice pool. Everything we needed. Great location. It should not take 60 days to return a security deposit.

Hibiscus Hale - 4BR Home with Private Pool

  • The Hibiscus Hale home on the Big Island was perfect for our family. The pool and yard were clean and well maintained. We especially loved the fact that the downstairs was large enough for our kids to have their "own" space. We will definitely come back in the future! Mahalo. To future guests...bring a knife sharpener if you plan on cooking. We easily refilled the propane and bar-b-que'd almost every night. With all the wonderful fresh fish at the local markets - who could resist? Aloha & see you soon.

Wailea Sunset Bungalow

  • what we liked best (other than the location)- was how fully equipped the kitchen was, all the extra towels, etc, just seemed like you thought of everything to make it the home away from home! advice to someone else staying here would be, you don't need to bring much of anything other than yourself --- don't need beach towels, ipod stereo dock, shampoo, pillows (they were great, as well as the beds), .... etc. I'd also advise to take the walk along shore on the path that goes by all the resorts --- nice walk for the evening & to have a cocktail before the sunsets at the four seasons -- didn't realize what a pretty walk & how short & easy it was until our last night. It was a perfect place for our family, we like to cook & my little guy had room to wiggle outdoors without any trouble. thank you for a terrific place to stay! we'll definitely pass the word along. Hale Moana - 2BR Home Poipu

  • Hale Moana was a great place to stay; private, quite, relaxing, and all the amenities of home with no extra charge for the unbelievable sunsets. Customer service was great, two minor issues we noticed when we arrived were handled within hours of reporting them. I can't think of a down side worth mentioning in regards to staying in this unit, my wife and I enjoyed all 11 days there and would not hesitate to stay there again. If you do make it here be sure to ask the locals for direction to the Kipu falls swimming hole (the hike is well worth the effort) and if you'd like an unforgettable adventure be sure to make it up to the Port Allen airstrip for a motorized micro-light flight over the island with Jim Gaither at Big Sky Kauai. It may not replace a helicopter tour but its a most exhilarating experience and a very up-close view of things you'll never see otherwise. Many thanks to Home Away and Island Rentals for helping make our time on the island most memorable.

Stonehouse - 3BR Home Poipu

  • This rental had lots of roaches and ants even after the extriminator was called and did whatever he did. Poor maintenance, ie broken light switches, etc throughout (I got tired of fixing them). The villa (especially apppliances) was dirty in fact we called in house cleaner to do a once over. The view was nice, not much beach.

Waipouli Beach Resort - 2BR Condo Ocean View #G404

  • don't let the drive up to the resort fool you once inside we never heard traffic on the hwy you wouldn't even know it was there the views in this condo were unbelievable! to have the ocean lull you to sleep every evening was wonderful . the pictures you see on the internet site are honest .the resort was very nice we have stayed at the Hyatt every year (on Poipu) since it opened, so we didn't know what to expect of our first condo experience. It was nice to have a kitchen , living room , bedroom all with oceanfront views. If i could compare it I would say the pool, design of the buildings, were very reminisent of the Hyatt on a much smaller scale. We had drinks (Mai Tais) upon our arrival down by the pool ( the hostess at the beach house said they were the absolute best) and she was right thank you Jason! our favorite place to eat turned out to be the Lemongrass grill !what a wonderful menu and the food was a 10+the ahi with the passion fruit aioli sauce was unbelievable! (catch of the day) service was 10+. We booked our trip thru Hawaiian vacation rentals the staff was nice (sheila) and very helpful. we look forward to staying in this unit next year "good by Hyatt hello Waipouli G404!see you next year!

Hale Lanui - 4BR Home + Private Pool + Private Hot Tub

  • Hale Lanui was the perfect vacation rental for my family. We all own large homes in the mainland and walking into Hale Lanui felt just like home. It was large enough for all 9 of us. The house was fully equipped with everything you need in a home (including a rice cooker!). The double washer-dryer set was very helpful especially with the size of our group and the number of times we changed clothes. An air conditioning would have been awesome, but we enjoyed our stay anyhow. It had the best view of the ocean in most areas of the house. I loved the wide lanais upstairs and downstairs. We ate all our meals in the lower lanai while we relaxed and watched the ocean at the upper lanai. My parents who are in their 80s loved the house. My dad enjoyed the morning walks at the adjacent Kalama Park. We all enjoyed our stay. Rod was very helpful from the first day to the end. He attended to our needs such as trouble-shooting the TV system downstairs and the internet. I would rent this house again maybe during the winter and spring seasons.

Koa Lagoon - 1BR Deluxe Condo #502

  • The condo was very neat and clean. The sheets on the bed were old and had those uncomfortable "balls" in the material so I changed them. I really liked the updates that had been made to the unit. I even took photos for perhaps my future updates at home. The view was fantastic. I could tell the condos were old but well maintained and updated. I have made note of Koa Lagoon for future stays in Maui. Thanks.

Waipouli Beach Resort - 1BR Condo Penthouse Partial Ocean View #E406

  • The only "less than excellent" rating is regarding the sofa bed. It is impossible to sleep on even with the added mattress pad. A blow-up bed would be more comfortable or the unit should be advertised as one bed. The rest of the unit was beautiful, well appointed and maintained and the housekeeper was very helpuful and gracious.

Nakea Home - Permit #TVNC-1245

  • We stayed at Nakea Home for two weeks. The weather was great for the first week and the second it rained. Normally this would be a problem but in Kauai there is always somewhere sunny to go! Everything at the house was great....the view, the set up, proximity to services and activities. Our favorite place is Hanalei, and every other beach we found! Sunsets at Ke'e beach are amazing! Waimea Canyon was well worth the drive.....it was all terrific...and very friendly people! When we return we are going to do more hiking and go at a different time of year....spring or fall. Kauai is beautiful! I don't have anything bad to say about it. It lacks the overall commercialism the Big Island has but it still has everything we needed and more. Mahalo to the wonderful hosts of the home! They are truly fantastic people and answered every little question we had about the area!

Hibiscus Hale - 4BR Home with Private Pool

  • We had a fantastic time at this house. It was everything we had hoped for in our vacation lodging. The house was clean, well kept, and very very well stocked with everything we needed as a family vacation, but could not take with us on the aircraft: beach towels, beach mats, sun umbrella, kids sand toys, etc. Bring your own soap and shampoo.... The beds were fantastic...better than ours at home unfortunately - and the kitchen very well equipped, including a stock of spices and other non-perishables. What we needed we bought locally. We purchased our food at the Sack and Save, and joined their "shopping club". It saved about 30% on our grocery bill, and cost nothing. The place is about 10 miles away from the Kona airport, in a quiet residential neighborhood. Even at night, the house was easy to find on our first arrival, and we had no difficuties with getting in. We never saw anyone else on the street, but it was a nice neighborhood nonetheless. The view from the back deck was beautiful at sunset, but the only way to see the ocean was from the crow's nest office room, up on the very top pf the house. To call this a 'partial ocean view" is a bit of a stretch, but I would not consider it a negative against the listing. Enjoy!

Nakea Cottage - 2BR Cottage

  • We had a tremendous vacation in Kaui. The location of our unit was spectacular. Having the beach at your door was the key for us. We had no problems with our unit during our stay. If the weather is sketchy on this end of the island, hop in your car and head down to Waimea, we always found it sunny. A supply of citronella candles and bug spray is reccomended. The mosquito's are persistent on the lanai. Try the Tahiti Nui in Hanalei for great pizza and live music. A guest register would be a good idea to have available at the rental, it would give visitors a head start during their stay on where to shop and visit. Mahalo, Scott MacMillan

Maui Sunset - 1BR Condo Partial Ocean View #105A

  • -I really liked that it was a ground floor unit and we could just walk straight out to the BBQ's. -The customer service on the first day wasn't great when I arrived, but the day before we checked out the customer service was great -I don't know if I could pick a best part, I enjoyed many different things for different reasons. I did really enjoy the location of the Maui Sunset. It was really central, not far from the airport and also close the Waliea and Makena -The best picture I took was on our last night at sunset on the ocean at the condo -My advice to someone staying at the unit would be bring laundry soap and extra towels -The part of my trip I would recommend to someone else is the Road to Hana and an insider tip would be to book a hotel in Hana so you can enjoy everything there. Making Hana a day trip is not enough -I didn't have time on this trip but I would love to come back and go surfing

Kuhio Shores - 2BR Condo #211

  • The view from this condo is wonderful. We spent hours looking at the ocean. The turtles came up everyday close to the shore and you can see whales in the distance. Also, we had a wonderful view of the surfers. The best "insider tip" is the restaurant/bar TomKats in Koloa. The food and service are great. Very reasonable for the islands. Also, the best Mai Tai's in Kauai in our opinion. Only two negatives. One was the outside hallway light came through the drape at night. Had to hang a blanket over the window so we could sleep. Number 2 were the twin beds in the second bedroom. My son who is only 5'11" feet hung off the end of the bed.

Whalers Cove - 2BR Condo #113-2

  • We had a 15 days at Whalers Cove. The unit was excellent with views of the sea including passing humpback whales. The owner has done a wonderful job providing a comfortable place with all the extras one could desire. Two minor gliches were handled promptly by the rental agent. Two things that might be helpful for future users of this unit. 1) The instructions to get to the unit need to be updated. There is now a rotary that one needs to go around on the road from Koloa and there are a couple of sentences in the directions that are redundant making the final turns a bit confusing. Fortunately we had scoped out the directions with our mapping program on our computer and were able to get to the unit without a problem. 2) The arrangements for this unit are NOT made with the Whalers Cove management. What this means is some of the amenities provided to the other units are not included for Whalers Cove 113-2 rental. Where we got a bit confused is reading in the travel guides it said daily maid service is included. However, this is not so for unit 113-2. When you consider the rate we paid for this unit (which we thought was the best unit on the property) was about half the top published rate for the deluxe 2 bedroom Whalers Cove units, we were very happy to go without the extras. The best activity we did was to take the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour of the island. We fist tried to book with one of Blue Hawaiian's competitors. After being rescheduled twice (a day or two later each time) we called Blue Hawaiian and had the trip scheduled for the same day! Thank you for your part in making out trip a great experience.

Kahalekai - 4BR Home Poipu

  • The best feature of Kahalekai is the fantastic view and locale. The best part of our vacation was ATV-ing at Kipu Adventures where we took our most favorite pictures. The best restaurant was Roy's. We loved Snorkle Bob's. We ate tons of ice cream at Lappert's. Do not take the Wailua Kayak & Canoe guided tour as the guides are surly, rude, and rush you. Thumbs way down for them.

Honu Lani - 3BR Home Poipu

  • Honulani the villa is lovely, although my wife found some of the decor rather dated, especially in the bathroom. The view was fantastic...when it wasn't obscured by the groups of young surfers traipsing through the front yard into the back garden, sitting on the wall at the end of the garden or making use of the garden hose to wash themselves down after a heavy surfing workout. This was obviously a problem for other visitors before us, as demonstrated by entries in the guest book. However, a solution, even if only partial was found and a gate was put up across the entry into the front yard. My wife removed the hose and hey presto, after much rather comical reactions by the surfer dudes when they realised that the hose was no longer there (all captured nicely on video) we had far fewer unwated guests. Let me make myself very clear...We really enjoyed ouyr stay in Honulani and loved the villa itself, but the first couple of days of our much too short stay was very blighted by the completely unexpected intrusion into our expensive holiday home of truculent and unpleasant visitors. We paid thousands of dollars for a peaceful and beatiful view of the Kauaian coast, and we didn't get it. Of course, the ongoing (for months) construction work next door was unexpected as well. Would we rent Honulani again? Yes, but checking to make sure that these unexpected things would not affect us again. We took a helcopter trip with Blue Hawaiian. Highly recommended and well worth the expense.

Waipouli Beach Resort - 2BR Condo Garden View #C105

  • Waipouli Beach Resort C105 was the best place I have EVER stayed in. All the room accommodations were high grade quality. We went to Kauai for a baseball tournament and the large bathtubs were excellent for soaking after a long game. The pool was amazing with the waterfalls and slides along with the food at the bar/grill. We would definitely return and tell all our friends about this place.

Waipouli Beach Resort - 2BR Condo Ocean View #G306

  • We loved the unit. The view was gorgeous! It was beautiful and laid out nicely. My only complaint is that the two bedrooms did not have ceiling fans in them. It was much too hot to leave the windows open and hear the waves. Having the washer and dryer in the unit was very convenient. We would be glad to stay there again on our next trip to Kauai. Thank you very much!

Waipouli Beach Resort - 2BR Condo Garden View #C105

  • Then unit was nice with nice upgrades that made it feel cozy. However the dishwasher did not work...I had to call 4 or 5 times to get it fixed. The first time was at 2:30 In the morning because it would not shut off and we could not find the circuit breaker (was hidden behind a mirror). When I called the remax lady she was obviously not happy with me on the phone. So one of the nicest ammenities, the dishwasher, we did not get to enjoy. We also went through about 4 different key cards....VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! THe pool was very nice, however I would of though that being a resort they would have music to enjoy outside while swimming. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Oceanfront Bungalow Waimea Bay - 3BR Home

  • What we liked best was the view and proximity to the two beaches on either side. The master bathroom and tub were fabulous and the outdoor shower very helpful. The deck and bbq were great. The problems were: 1-horrible, uncomfortable seats (we had to purchase beach chairs at the market to bring in to the house so we could sit more than 2 people to watch tv) and not enough seating in the den area to accommodate 6 adults at one time AND the deck chairs were also incredibly uncomfortable 2-it really does not sleep 6 people, as the couch/futon in the third room is small and uncomfortable (and we were traveling with 4 college kids and 2 parents, not with 3 couples) 3-nobody responded to our calls when we needed help (with making the dvd player work and a need for more toilet paper and garbage bags)....on the plus side, they DID respond when the toilet was broken and they sent repair people over quickly (i.e., unimpressive customer service while we were there, which was in contrast to the efficient customer service i received on line prior to arriving) 4-we prefer to recylce things so tried to drive the recycling in to Haleiwa each day, but it was challenging....mb a recylce bin and a regular bin??

Garden Bungalow Waimea Bay - 3BR Home

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very nice and comfortable. Somehow we didn't understand that "complete kitchen" does not include a dishwasher. There were also a few necessities that we wish we would have had for cooking - a spatula, other utensils and a dish towel. We also didn't have a broom until we asked for one. We were disappointed that there wasn't a BBQ. We had already bought our steaks before we came and so had to cook them on the stove. It would be good if others knew before they arrived that there wasn't a BBQ there. The spinkler system comes on a lot and makes a lot of mud in the parking area. All in all it was an awesome stay. We enjyed the sunsets and walks on the beach. We enjoyed the quietness of the town and the Foodland store. We would recomend it to our friends and may even come back ourselves someday!

Hale Maluhia at Lanikai Beach

  • This is the 2nd time that we have stayed at Hale Maluhia and we are already talking about renting for a third time. This house is perfection. Its beauty, location and layout are perfect for family or friends on a vacation getaway. We consider this our Hawaiian home away from home!

4.7.08

Oceanfront Bungalow Waimea Bay - 3BR Home

  • This house was absolutely beautiful. The location exceeded our expectations...right on the ocean, house very clean, and within walking distance to two beautiful beaches. We rarely had to drive anywhere. Great snorkeling at both beaches. We appreciated all the beach towels, chairs, and umbrella that were provided. There is a grocery store within walking distance which was convenient for extra needed items, but I would suggest doing most of your shopping at the Costco right off the freeway as you head to Northshore (I would highly advise to save money). I would also advise Ted's Bakery just up the highway a bit by Sunset Beach...yummy homebaked goods. The only suggestion I would make as far as the rental unit goes, is to fix the electric gate by the street - we would have liked to close it every night for safety/privacy reasons. We noticed most homes along the coast in this area had their gates closed. If you want a quiet, laid-back, spend quality time with family, read-a-book vacation...then this is the place for you! It truly holds the essence of Hawaiian culture and relaxed lifestyle, definitely worlds away from the busy city of Honolulu.

Garden Bungalow Waimea Bay - 3BR Home

  • 1. The front sliding security gate was inoperable and remained in the open position for our entire stay, thus the cottage and adjoining beach house were open to the street and could be accessed from the street by the general public. 2. The parking area which is shared by the cottage and the beach house was unlighted and very dark at night. There was an exterior light fixture positioned on the cottage to light the parking area, but the bulb had been removed and never replaced. 3. Smoke detectors throughout the house were disconnected. Some had the batteries removed, others had the batteries disconnected. 4. Electrical power outlets in the kitchen did not work, therefore we could not use the coffee pot or microwave oven for our entire stay. 5. The shower in the bathroom immediately off the living room did not work. Water flowed from the spigot into the tub, but the diverter valve that shifts water from the tub to the shower head did not work. Everyone had to shower in the other bathroom for our entire stay. 6. One of the bedroom's closet door (louvered/accordian type) was completely falling apart. We could not use the closet for fear that moving the door would cause it to fall apart into pieces. 6. The cottage was very clean.

Koa Lagoon - 1BR Standard Condo #203

  • We really liked the view. Saw many whales from the balcony. We went all over the island and played some golf at Pukalani CC. My advice to you all is to do something about the shower curtain. When you would take a shower, the force of the shower water would suck the curtain, even with magnets, off the tub wall. You need a heavier curtain and stronger magnets. Everything else was fine and we really enjoyed our trip. Thank you, Ken

Kahalekai - 4BR Home Poipu

  • The Kahalekai was beautiful. The house is right on the water, and we went to sleep with the sound of the surf every night. The best part of our trip was watching the whales breach out of the water while sitting on the patio...it was awesome. We took a helicopter tour of the island which was beautiful. We also ziplined, which was amazing. One of the best parts of our trip was just relaxing with our group (4 couples of old friends) while enjoying the Kahalekai. We made new friends with the staff at Brenneckis in Poi Pu........what fun. The rental company was very accomodating and we felt very welcome. Thank you!

Koa Lagoon - 1BR Standard Condo #203

  • The view was excellant and the whales were awsome. Freds was a good restaurant and also Mai Tai in Lahaina. We didn't take many pictures as this was our third time in Maui. One thing we liked about Kehie is that it is not as windy as some other beaches. Shop around for food, water ect. The prices can very and you could pay alot more on some items than uou need to. All in all this was a great trip and we will be back next year. Mahalo Bill and Wanda Grimes

Waipouli Beach Resort - 2BR Condo Garden View #C105

  • the only issue is that unit C105 had a differnt name as the guests, it was under Weinstein vs. Boche, so there were questions when we tried to check in, they took care of us, but I dont understand how that name was on the books when Boche is who paid for the unit. The property was great! Amy Boche

Nakea Cottage - 2BR Cottage

  • Nakea Cottage was a beautiful place to stay! Beach was excellent as well. The view from every aspect was beautiful! Ocean front view - jungle mountian views surrounding. Rain didn't stop us one bit! Had fast 'fixit' service from the owner when the coffee maker went out - truely a good time. Only thing I would recommend is mosquito's are hungry - bring lots of repellent!

Hale Ohana - 5BR Home Poipu

  • The house was just stunning. The second my family and I stepped into it we were in tears, it was breathtaking. it is a very convenient location. Be prepared to spend most of your time on the Lanai because the view is out of this world. It boggles my mind that anyone who owns a house like this would not be living in it every day. The whole holiday was a dream. Kauai is so beautiful. If you are brave then you have to see the Island via open door helicopter. it was one of the highlights of my holiday. Ask to be taken up by a dude called Floyd at Port Allen . Quality food can be found at the Plantation and at Roy's nearby. Not too much choice for vegetarians though. Best insider tip was from a lovely lady and her dog (Zoe) at a surfboard rental place called "Kemo's". if you surf, she'll advise you where's safe and where's not. Longboard and Mai Tai's are the drinks of the holiday. Last bit of advice, "bug spray". We left some anti-bug candles there for the next Folks that stay...essential.

Nakea Home - Permit #TVNC-1245

  • We love Anini beach. The Nakea home was a comfortable well equipped home. We enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins from the front deck. The snorkling was fun also. We saw many sea turtles, beautiul fish, morey eels and an eagle ray. This year we went to the Smith family luau and it was fabulous. We always hike the Napali coast and it is always beautiful. All and all a very memorable trip. I would also like to mention that this is the second time we have booked through your service and both times the service was very hospitable. Mahalo, Karen Gardner

Kuhio Shores - 2BR Condo #211

  • We really liked the Kuhio Shores 211 had a great time was close to the beach, and the kids can't wait to go back. It was a little noisy in the evening and did not get quiet until after 11 pm or so, and not having air conditioning in the afternoons the condo could get a little hot. But we would go back in the future to this condo. Take plenty of sunscreen as it was sunny every day.

Nakea Cottage - 2BR Cottage

  • The rental location was fantastic. The neighbors were very nice and the owner was very nice. The rental was in fair condition. When we got there we had to re wash the sheets and linens, even had to wash the pillows as they smelled quite mildewed. Found quite a few cobwebs and spiderwebs throughout the residence. All in all we were pleased with the rental. We would suggest updating the linens and bedding as they seem old. Our neighbors had the same complaints about their rental (same owner). The snorkeling rith out front was excellent. We swam with 3 sea turtles and saw lots of sea life. The Olympic Cafe restaurant in kapa'a is the best restaurant on the island. The food is reasonably priced and there is lots of it, huge portions and very flavorful.

Hale Ohana - 5BR Home Poipu

  • I liked the location and the service (not much required) was fine. The best part was being on the island and I can't say I found a restaurant I REALLY liked. I don't have to tell my friend anything because I brought them with me to the island. My advice to someone about this house is to plan to be outside from about 4pm to 7pm - the lack of AC makes the house uncomfortable. I didn't have time to just sit and read, so next time I'm going to plan on doing that. The best activity was the catamaran/snorkel trip I took with Holo-Holo. Thanx for asking, Chantal Berkowitz

  • We had a great time at Hale Lanui. The property was perfect for our two young families. Lots of space, pool, park, tennis, all within reach of beds for nap time:-) Rod was great...we went fishing with him one morning and caught a bone fish. Our 2 year old girls were so excited. • Our Vacation was wonderful, the Nakea family really knows how to make people feel welcome. We had everything we could have possibly imagined to have, and it was very nice and easy. The place was incredible, and the house perfect. The only tip I have is to take a good bug spray as the mosquitos came around every night. Otherwise we felt as if the whole place for us... I recomend it to everyone with small children as the beach is the best I have ever been to with my kids. Best snorkeling, best fishing, best swimming with or without little ones, lots of shade, and sand...I really hope to go back soon.

Kahalekai - 4BR Home Poipu

  • Kahalekai was better than we had anticipated -- it was perfect for our family. We loved the quiet neighborhood. Six adults and three small children had an abundance of room. The views were incredible from all rooms and the patios. The children loved the tidepools, which were easily accessible -- be sure you bring or buy aqua shoes. The waves crashing on the rocks lulled us to sleep each night. The botanical garden across the street was an added bonus. Even though there is no air conditioning, the ceiling fans in all the rooms and the shaded yards kept us comfortable. Koloa is a quaint little town not too far away; be sure to check out Island Soap and Candal Works -- you'll be drawn there by the lucious fragrance. Lupperts Ice Cream Shop is also a place you do not want to miss. Driving is relaxed and unrushed, but there is quite a bit of traffic. The breathtaking helicopter tour is well worth the expense -- and the risk. Our tour was with Air Kauai. We all loved the island and would definitely recommend Kahalekai.

  • A beautiful unit and resort! We were pleased to find that there were actually 2 "master" suites, as well as a "guest" bathroom. Everything in the unit was high quality, which, along with the well-stocked (appliance, dishes, etc.) kitchen, made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. My son had a great time on the water slides at the pool, which was laid out very nicely, so as not to cluster everyone in a single area. The Smith's Luau remains the best - best food, best show! All in all, a great trip to Kauai, at a beautiful resort!

Hale Nalu - 3BR Home Baby Beach Poipu

  • Our stay at Hale Nalu was a true visit to Paradise. The sunny Poipu Beach area of Kauai was a great place to relax, swim, snorkel and surf. Snorkel Bob's (about 2 miles away on Koloa Road) is a good place to rent snorkel sets, as well as beach accessories such as chairs, umbrellas, and coolers. Our favorite beach was the one adjacent to the Sheraton (surfing lessons are available there, also). Good snorkeling areas are at Hoona Beach, Koloa Landing, and adjacent to the Beach House restaurant. Spouting Horn is an easy walk -- go first thing in the morning, and you will have the place to yourself. The house was beautiful. The back deck is nicely shaded until about noon -- a wonderful place to relax. We recommend Hale Nalu very highly.
